Hello, I have been enjoying reading RI for the past couple of months and really enjoyed reading the "Eyes Wide Shut" thread. So I thought I'd add my two cents:

A few years back [2002?] I attended a Double Feature DVD party with some friends where the bill was Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut and Roeg's Don't Look Now. The host said he liked how the titles complimented each other and that they were both about troubled relationships. Great date movies!

I came away from the visual feast struck by how the movies both used the colors red and blue to great effect.

Anyway, after reading the Kubrick thread here I came away with something else, DLN takes place in Venice and EWS has it's own Venice connection with the masks used at the "party" scene.

There are other interesting similarities as well [like the dvd's box covers for one thing]. There is no great conspiracy here, but Roeg is a director that RI readers will find interesting if they haven't seen any of his movies. I also recommend "Performance", which covers a lot of ground well-trod here, identity switching, metamorphasis, rituals......

Thanks for reading!
