Lord, the irrational pique of this campaign season. I've called a few family members to advise them to simply get the fuck offline for a few days. That whole Ozymandias routine absolutely fries most people I know. I am fortunate to have spent time doing web design from every angle, mostly because analyzing other people's behavior online taught me, inevitably, that I'm just as dumb. The recursive loops around predetermined conclusions are easy to see from a distance, and perhaps only then. Our search strings will always give us what we're looking for, and that's not a good thing from any angle. The feedback loop of Seeing The Real Pattern is an adrenaline junkie high that burns bridges fast and never ends well.
Let's rap for a minute - as a Vermonter, I don't mind derailing Bernie's thread for a few - there's a hundred and seventy nine billion venues to argue about the frothing, perpetual now that accompanies every campaign spectacle. I just don't think RI needs to be one of them. Especially since all the interesting arguments we have are along very different lines than anything being discussed by Sanders, Clinton, Trump or ... David Freedom? Is that the other guy?
Anyhow.
1. This is a parapolitical forum. This is an unapologetic safe space for people who are -- utterly, permanently -- disengaged from the horseshit production of American politics. There is no problem with that worth bringing up.
2. We are not exactly optimists. There is nothing brave, edgy, or iconoclastic about pointing out what a slaughterhouse nightmare actual life on Planet Earth is, has been, and curse Jehovah himself, will be for some time to come. Indeed, the softest-spoken folks here have stories that could break our heads in half.
With that hick poetry dispensed with, I think all involved have done a good job on cooperative research and constructive conversation in the past two months. I haven't been here, or as involved, as much as I would like.
Unfortunately for us all, obviously, that's starting to change. Cheers!
