Whistleblowers embedded in Star Trek+Battlestar Galactica

Postby Hugh Manatee Wins » Tue Feb 17, 2009 11:12 pm

There have been a slew of real world whistleblowers fictionalized with covert negative framing into outer space on 'Star Trek' and 'Battlestar Galactica' plus some things given covert positive framing.

One of the whistleblowers died this week in a plane crash, Alison Des Forges.

In the first 'Star Trek' tv series of the 1960s there were:
> Captain Kirk...real one was fired from Naval Intelligence 9/41 for wanting to warn Pearl Harbor of broken Japanese Purple code.

> Spock the Vulcan...real Spock was America's most trusted baby doctor but anti-Vietnam War...

> real Operation Vulcan was a CIA terrorism disaster in Hanoi.

> Nurse Rand...real Rand was the Pentagon's think tank, the Rand Corporation

In the following 'Star Trek' tv series of the 1980s and 90s there were:
> Captain Jean-Luc Picard...real Major John Pickard was optical analyst for Canadian military who debunked the forged Oswald photos for CBC in 1978 during the House Select Committee On Assassinations
(see also movie 'Lisa Picard is Famous')

> Geordi La Forge the blind African...real Alison Des Forges was insightful expert on African human rights.

1986, "Geordi La Forge" the Blind African appears on 'Star Trek' as one of several whistlelowers fictionalized into outer space on that popular tv show.

Alison Des Forge was a visionary, credible and committed whistleblower on Africa her entire life and, I'm sure, was chosen as "most likely to alarm Americans with the Truth" by CIA-Hollywood when the
1986 African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights went into effect.

'Battlestar Galactica' in 1978 has the name of a covert op creating a flight beacon network for running drugs, guns, and secret wars in Latin America, "Pegasus," plus in 2004 negative framing of a DIA head who exposed the politics of the POW-MIA cover-up, General Eugene Tighe.

Saul Tigh

For the original series character, see Colonel Tigh.
.....
Overview and personality

Saul Tigh is a line officer, possesses memories of once being a Colonial Viper pilot (though never as accomplished as the Adamas or Kara Thrace), and is allegedly 70 years old (His real age is about 2000 years old, while his most recent body in which he resides has been active for about 30 years); though his actual age and memories prior to the last 20 years are in question. Memorabilia in his quarters suggest that he flew with a squadron named "Vigilantes".[2] His father was supposedly a viper pilot and his grandfather a Presidential military advisor. These memories however are false ones, implanted by Brother Cavil when he killed and temporarily boxed Saul and his fellow Final Five Cylons. In reality, Saul is a survivor of the ill fated 13th tribe, a tribe made entirely of Humanoid Cylons.

Season 2.0. The final episode of the first half, "Pegasus", was originally 15 minutes too long for broadcast, but according to creator Ronald Moore, the production team decided to cut the episode to time rather than pad it out to fill 90 minutes, as this was deemed impractical. The longer version of "Pegasus" appears on the Battlestar Galactica Season 2.5 DVD set, which was released in the US on September 19, 2006.

--------------------------------------------

The real Operation Pegasus was quite interesting...and not the WWII version in 'Band of Brothers' which serves as another decoy for the 1970s ops of the same name today....

McCain and the black ops of Operation Pegasus were framed in Battlestar Galactica back in 1978-

Battlestar Pegasus appears in the original series two-part episode, "The Living Legend".

Pegasus spent her earlier life patrolling the edges of Colonial space under Commander Cain. Cain was a renowned Colonial warrior and was often referred to as "the living legend".
