Time for farewells..

Postby Et in Arcadia ego » Sat Mar 07, 2009 9:41 pm

Been here before, but I mean it this time, I've just grown so far past this forum its a painful experience to submerge myself in it again, and I'm apt to punish those who haven't made the same mile after mile traversal of a logic path peripheral to my own.

I suspect that's that same feeling for a number of folk, although they lack my certain flair for communicating disdain and contempt.

My last gift to Jeff Wells, the man who's shared so much, and been such a good friend to my family, is make an about face starting right now and never return.

I'm sure you'll all do very well. Those that don't needn't have any fear. One day Sol, the Angry Reg Giant will end all sorrows.

Goodbye,
Acradia

The Aloha Spirit.

The Aloha Spirit is the coordination of mind and heart within each person. It brings each person to the Self. Each person must think and emote good feelings to others. In the contemplation and presence of the life force, Aloha, the following unuhi laulâ loa (free translation) may be used:

* Akahai, meaning kindness to be expressed with tenderness;
* Lôkahi, meaning unity, to be expressed with harmony;
*`Olu`olu, meaning agreeable, to be expressed with pleasantness;
* Ha`aha`a, meaning humility, to be expressed with modesty;
* Ahonui, meaning patience, to be expressed with perseverance.

These are traits of character that express the charm, warmth and sincerity of Hawaii's people. It was the working philosophy of native Hawaiians and was presented as a gift to the people of Hawaii.

Aloha is more than a word of greeting or farewell or a salutation. Aloha means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return. Aloha is the essence of relationships in which each person is important to every other person for collective existence. Aloha means to hear what is not said, to see what cannot be seen and to know the unknowable.

It was a pleasure and a privilege, et. Thanks.

PS -- A graceful exit, too. And that's so rare it deserves some

    I made this zombie hand cake for my son on his 16th birthday based on his favorite type of movie (Horror) and his favorite genre of horror, Zombies. He was very excited when he saw this, I just wanted to do something special.

Greatness is a transitory experience. It is never consistent. It depends in part upon the myth-making imagination of humankind. The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in. He must reflect what is projected upon him. And he must have a strong sense of the sardonic. This is what uncouples him from belief in his own pretensions. The sardonic is all that permits him to move within himself. Without this quality, even occasional greatness will destroy a man.
