Who the Frak are YOU: The RI Membership Directory

OK, all you peoples who said you are artists, let me direct you to the Member Notice Board.

http://www.rigorousintuition.ca/board/viewtopic.php?t=25029

Now, I understand that there has been a great deal of contention here as of late. That is not an accident, however, I have to say that regardless of any contention in this sphere, I always maintain my professionalism, and if you need references to that effect, I can supply them.

Here is my point. So many of you are visual artists; Jam.fuse., LilyPatToo, and many, many others. I would like to mount an RI themed show. This is not an ARG, it's for real, I would be happy to show your goods, so who's willing?

I would love to PW but I can't any longer due to arthritis and carpal tunnel. Any old stuff I may have is not art show worthy. It's simple pencil work and sketeches. :(

It is I

Postby dqueue » Fri Oct 09, 2009 11:26 am

It is I, dqueue. Longtime lurker. Occasional poster. Aging geek. Jack of all trades; master of none. Anxiously awaiting the bottom to fall out, or the top to blow off, whichever may happen first. In the meantime, I try to get a sense of what's happening in the world around me, as I struggle to engage that world in a positive fashion.

Might as well introduce myself for a first post. Longtime lurker, finally decided to join. I work part time, although you could say I am trying to stay "off the grid". I don't have a bank account and no driver's licence. I live in Ontario, and we have to get new health cards, with pic ID and what not. If I don't get one, I still have just a card with a name and number, I can't get see a doctor or whatever. That's universal health care for ya. Just kidding.

Heya elfismiles! Cool thread, I kinda thought the ten random facts thread was kinda a neat "get to know ya" thread, too. I've got a website, but am too frikin' chicken to post it publicly. Meh, if anyone's terribly curious 'spose I could PM it to 'em.

Also, Annie's Our Eye Flickr thread is pretty smashing, too. I'm still curious as to who "paintings photos" is on Our Eye. Lots of homoerotic art & exhibitionism. Fun times!

Must have missed this post the first time round..A quick bio, I live just outside London, been a heroin addict for 25 years with a few gaps and now i use fairly infrequently but am on a low dose of methadone. For me the internet was the red pill the 1st thing that interested me was chemtrails- i read about them and the next day 2 huge trails were over my house and i could see spider web like filliments in the air.I now have a very open mind on most things- sen a few weird things in the sky including a spherical silver object that was stationary for 10 min's or so then dissapeared.I lurk here mostly but log on every day to read posts - i kinda wish there was a similar forum that concentrated on things from the Uk- but this place covers most things that facinate me.

the holes are small
that's why rain is thin.

Thirty eighteen year old mom, former teacher, former librarian, currently a fitness instructor at a chain of gyms you may have heard of in a large, important city you may have heard of. My RI user name is taken from my first D&D character, which has to say a lot. Born in a place I call Podunk, Iowa. Raised in Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. Allergic to anything that smacks of authoritarianism or fascism.

I've been told I resemble the character "Sue" on the program "Glee." Haven't seen it, but I'm sure it's not a compliment.

EDIT: I also had a very bad experience on the web (or the net, as they called it then) in the mid 1990s, so I learned to be almost comically paranoid about revealing personal information.

just got onto these new boards. Been following Jeff since before the first BB then onward. I would presume many like me, long term lurkers. Recognise the older members, some mid termers and the new influx. I'm all for people being suitably intimidated and spending time getting up to speed before commenting. Some great minds here. I've appreciated them. I'll probably sink below the surface for many more years yet. Just popped in to register my gratitude.

I'm a proud teenage misfit/outsider whose interests are generally foreign to my peers. Luckily I've been finding the proverbial others through the miracle of cyberspace.

I maintain a blog entitled What a Wonderful Place to Be. I'm sure some who have taken a cursory look at it will see it as a scattershot affair, but in truth it is my attempt at exploring anything and everything that falls under the wide umbrella of being generally neglected by the mainstream - retro-pop culture, apocalypticism, cult films, conspiracy, politics, psychedelic research, transhumanism, etc.

I'll be superficial, since I often reveal probably far too much personal info here.

Years ago, I had little black kids come up to me and actually think I was this guy:

Not as many years ago, I had little white kids coming up to me and thinking I was this guy:

I actually do look a lot like Daniel Stern. One time I saw him at the LA Airport and I wanted to walk up to him and say "hey people think I'm you sometimes" but I was too shy.

I've also been told I look like this guy, especially when my hair is short. I've had grownups think I was him at first glance:

And then not too long ago I had someone tell me I looked like this guy:

Who might be the one guy you don't recognize, it's Ridley Scott. I guess that means I'm getting older if I look like him now!

If only I had ANY of these people's money!

Whoa, previewing this post, this definitely shows the progression of my own aging process. How strange.

Time for a drink. Oh yeah, I don't drink any more. SHIT.

Now what? :ohno:

K let's see..
41 yrs old. I do animation and VFX for a living and make docs and short films for fun.. Am an avid upland game hunter and archery enthusiast. Have been practicing and performing slight of hand for the majority of my life. Mostly card and coin tricks. Used to do it professionally like 20 years ago, but now it's for fun. Have had a lifelong interest in fringe topics particularly new religious movements. In 6th grade my school became concerned and called my parents when I turned in a detailed report about the death of Susan Alamo for an English class.
Got a bad nicotine addiction and use Swedish snus all day.
