Thanks to sunny / moderator position open

Postby Jeff » Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:00 am

Sunny's long tour of duty as an RI mod has come to a close. Deepest thanks to her for taking on the largely thankless task with grace and good judgement. :lovehearts:

Meaning, there's now an opening at RI HQ. Anyone who feels up to it is welcome to contact me via pm. (Thanking you in advance for no kickbacks, bribes or blackmail.)

Yay, I'm glad you'll still be around. You've got some great threads, one of my favorites being the ten random facts one... (I think you started that one...)

Sunny, thank you so much for the time you spent being a moderator. I always felt comfortable writing to you when i felt i needed a judgement call on something.
Thank you for sharing the things in your life that you enjoy. I never understood how some one could like the sun and vampires at the same time until I checked out True Blood.
I am currently reading 'JFK and the Unspeakable' at your recommendation. It is a very powerful book.
The way the author constantly references the works of Thomas Merton is giving me the added benefit of forcing me to not pigeonhole all Catholic priests as scumbags, which is something I really need right now.

I look forward to your continued presence here, mod or not.

§ê¢rꆧ, yes that was my thread and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the responses.

IanEye, you are always ready with the most interesting musical accompaniment for any situation. Thanks!

It is a very powerful book.

It is indeed. I think it might be the definitive work on the assassination.

moderator position open

They say power corrupts, Jeff; but what I want to know is, how much does this position pay? For even a moderate salary, I can promise to be fondly indulgent with my favourite posters and deeply vindictive towards anyone who pisses me off, even inadvertently.

There's not much to it. Jeff ships you one of these by FedEx:

I could probably manage that..it's the grace & good judgement bit that might be a bit of a stretch.

I hope that sunny's replacement will continue his/her libertarian (non-authoritarian and -overly intrusive) style of moderating.

It was very much appreciated, sunny.

You're an apt role model for other would-be moderators.

I think that's a really important point.

I know I've tried to model my own behaviour after hers. But I failed.

Whew, I'm really glad you're not leaving, sunny. Dare I to hope that you might comment more often now?
