One of the reasons Christian fascists have managed to ascend as far as they have in American society is that they have not been held accountable-enough for their words.

Since many (if not most) Christians have been told to understand themselves as representatives of Christ on earth, Tea Party Jesus takes this seriously — and puts the words of Christians who are also fascists directly into the mouth of Christ, who they claim to represent. That way, the truly shocking shit that spews forth from them (which we've become used to, in large measure) can be can be seen in all its ridiculously grotesque "glory."

Inappropriate? Perhaps. But to claim to be a Christian, while nevertheless saying and doing the kinds of things that are often said and done, is far more inappropriate — worst of all is that these things are often given a free pass in the false name of "tolerance."



























And yes, many on the so-called "left" say a lot of evil things too, while still claiming to represent Christ on earth. It seems to me that they should be held accountable for their words also.

I sometimes wonder if it is the idea that if you focus too much on something, you can create the opposite.
