IanEye for sale

On Thursday, the company i work for went through another round of layoffs. Somehow, i yet again managed to avoid the axe, but unfortunately some of my friends did not.
I always keep a Rizla tucked away in my car for such occasions, and apparently so do some of my friends. We all ended up packed together in a small Scion, listening to the Beatles Mono boxset, smoking marijuana and doing slow loops through the industrial park we work in.

Although I laugh & I act like a clown
Beneath this mask eye am wearing a frown
My tears are falling like rain from the sky
Is it for her or myself that I cry?

So, the analogy made a lot more sense to me when I was really high and had several shots of Patrón in me.
Perhaps a better analogy would be to compare Mr. Anderson to Sidney Lumet. Mr. Lumet was born in 1924 and he directed "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead" in 2007.
Like Mr. Lumet, I get the feeling Mr. Anderson has a lot of movies left in him.

Me, I'm just the lucky kind
Love to hear you say that love is love
And though we may be blind
Love is here to stay & that's enough...

Well, I guess I finally zigged when i should have zagged, because they laid me off today. To be honest, I am fairly amazed I managed to last this long.

I just made my second batch of margaritas, figured I'd share.

Drinks all around!

Cheers to you, IanEye.

I hope everything works out for you the way you need.

IanEye, I wish you lucky breaks and time to catch your breath before they begin. You have a lot of company out there right now, but as a wise man once said, "Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing: the last of human freedoms is to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way." That was Viktor E. Frankl, who knew whereof he spoke. Best of luck in finding your way to acceptance and then a better, cooler job.

Good luck, IanEye. In a better world, you'd be head of therapeutic programming at MTV. I love your contributions.

Here's a toast to you Ian, I am sorry about the blow, but you're far too talented and good-looking to go unemployed very long. May the time off provide fertilizer for creative output!

Thank you, one and all for your empathetic salutations.
My Wife was kind enough to insist I start drinking water at around midnight, so I don't even have to post in the "hangover' thread this morning.

here is a bartenders tip:
If you are making batches of margaritas and you run out of limeade, 4 green Popsicles is a surprisingly passable substitute, as long as you have fresh limes to squeeze in as well...

Happy International Human Rights Day everyone, or at least the 15 minutes of it that are left. Who knew? Nobody tells me about the protests anymore.

I didn't see this until now. Sorry about you being laid off Ian. Seems lots of folk are having a rough go right now. But I tend to agree with miss Willow:

How 'bout a round of my home made sangria? Extra for Mr. Eye. The real thing is pretty good, but with the virtual, it's hangover-free. I think I might get very drunk this eve. I have a little break for the night & thought I'd indulge, 'cause I don't do it often. I'll be sure to drink lots of water before bed, though.

Well, never did get plastered, no desire to. I ended up crashing at 9:30 that eve...

I know, it's only 10 after 8 in the morn, but I'd like a spiked coffee of some sort. Surprise me, barkeep. I'm dreading the Christmas dinner with all the fam. I think this year I'm gonna be looked on as the loopy one for my brief check in at the hospital. I'd like to just dissapear for that eve... :scaredhide:

Lady P., how 'bout a Morning Glory Fizz, or some good ole Bailey's 'n coffee? That will be my indulgence this weekend. Once a year I buy myself a bottle of hard liquor or liqueur in this case and parse it out over the holidays.

Don't let anyone give you a hard time! If they do, I'll send my bouncer after 'em.

...Now, where did he get to?

I'll have a bottle each of Cointreau and Chambord, please.

What! They're for the truffles. :partyhat

Well, at least he's got a sense of humour about how he might very easily have killed a child. Got to give him that.

I'm thinking I might get drunk today myself. I'm more or less snowed in, and that's a great excuse to court utter ruination.
Lucky I don't drive.
