it's 20 mins however, to me at least the grasp of the potential implications coming from such humble individual beginnings as a dad using tech to map his kids linguistics to an overview of our collective linguistic and conceptual state is staggering.

you are in the realm of the worlds subconscious being manifest.

and being manifest means it's a tool, a toy, an implement, which makes me picture us as bees, our hive being poked with sticks , or minnows being led by pebbles dropped from above.
I may be mistaken.

oh it's a profound thing! akin to the period in evolutionary history when the first multicelled organisms developed from theretofore only single celled ones.

will humans begin to specialize in a similar manner to cells?

i see the day coming in our lifetime when these cellphone internet-connectred things will be attached to our bodies, the batteries powered by our bodies. of course this will be those who can afford it and not everybody.

i've been experiencing a very powerful connection to my stepdaughter just lately amplifiesd by these devices. i will think of her, pull out my phone to text her, and she will be texting me at that very moment. happening a couple of times a day lately.

LOL! Whatevers. Sheesh! Wow. Just wow. Wait a minute. I can't say 'Wow, just wow.' I already said, 'Sheesh' and LOL'd. Hm. A dilemma. Anyways, FaceSpace is awesome, like Obama!

There is truth to what you say about myspace, but I book gigs and, still, more than ninety percent of the musicians submitting use myspace as their website.

What struck me was the use of the tech to watch linguistic nodes, words, phrases etc, rise from the soup of communication in real time as the internet fed on them. Some rose and then declined while others, as they all did, started small and then produced massive topographies of activity.

I don't think facebook and twitter are any more profound than any other popular communication medium but this meta stuff, tools applied to that communication that reveals it's , well our, collective mind, well that's just more subtext than I've ever imagined being made visible before.

And for those with the means to both drop the pebbles and watch the ripples... mind=blown

Music only and perhaps some documents here and there and that is all. I figure if I'm already listening to their Laurel Canyon shit they already think they got me. But no. No to cloud anything.

The thing that routinely blows my mind is how many hard drives must they exponentially add in order to store all this data per day. It certainly seems to be a Sisyphean task. One that simply requires human management in order to get the potential "secret police" out in the field quickly in order to determine what is to be archived and what goes by the wayside.
There is no me. There is no you. There is all. There is no you. There is no me. And that is all. A profound acceptance of an enormous pageantry. A haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love. -- Propagandhi

One thing it is is removing infrastructure from you and I and returning it to other entities.

Its an attempt to create and control a market and to drive a new generation of saleable consumable tech shite.

Man, I totally want to be part of that shiny happy corporate sponsored hipster innovative indie game/movie/product design culture as seen at SxSw!
Those people look so happy and healthy, and oh my!
