Okay, here's what my interface looks like under "banning":

Image

So "deactivate account" and "delete signature" aren't available options, at least not for this lowly worm.

Image

And I don't want you to get the impression that I enjoy banning Hugh. I really don't. I seem to remember a time when he brought a lot of valuable information and a differing perspective that I enjoyed. But last night he was obviously focusing on me and looking for a fight. It's bullshit.

Sorry about the confusion. I don't know why mods wouldn't have the deactivate functionality. Anyhoo, carry on.

Baiting mods is bullshit on any board. Compound that with Hugh's unique bullshit and he got off easy.

Ya know, in the interests of board harmony and good will, I'm gonna release Hugh's suspension three hours early, since I'm thinking about it right now. I know, I know, I'm just an old softee.

Then I'm gonna run and hide.

Project Willow received this unsolicited pm from Hugh today with regards to this interchange between herself and the Hughster:

Hugh Manatee Wins wrote:Having slung your smear of me, you get your ass back to the thread and respond directly to my post.

I don't know anything about you but I know that spooks are on the board trying to keep people from knowing how psyops media has been run for decades.

Funny, I don' t see any posts by you on mass psyops.
Funny, I don't see any posts by you in the Psyops and Meme Management forum which was created by Jeff just for my posts. There's just tumbleweeds there unless I'm posting.
And I've posted around 94% of the documentation of psyops on this board.

You may be myopically posting all about your own abuse but that doesn't give you the right to slag off the abuse of millions and billions .

I can make the case that mass child abuse is a national security asset along with misogyny and patriarchy. And I can name the [literal] screen memories designed to project these memes onto the masses of the planet.
Can you? No, you can't.

We can be allies or you can sling shit just because you (allegedly) don't get how mass media psyops uses mnemonics, neurolinguistics, and game theory for military doctrines of social control.

She wasn't crazy about the tone or content, and I'm not sure I blame her. But I want to run it by you guys.

Should someone have a word with him about it? I volunteer for the duty, awaiting confirmation.

Yeah, she sent me that as well. Nasty tone. Especially unwelcome, I think, in a pm.

If you'd like to take it on, be my guest. Please try to get it through his psyopsy skull that sending an unsolicited message of this kind could be construed as harassment.

Well, maybe I was too nice about it, but I'm a sensitive guy, after all:

Hugh, Project Willow has forwarded this pm to the board admin with a request that someone speak to you regarding he general tone. She has a problem with it, and to an extent, we agree.

I would ask you, if you could, to try and keep the more aggressive defenses of your ideas to Willow on the forum proper. I'm sure she wouldn't have minded a more diplomatic response by pm, but this one seems pretty angry and might be construed as harassing, considering the language and the unsolicited nature of the communication. We're all adults here, I know, but not everyone wants to continue heated forum debate through private back-channels, so please bear that in mind in the future.

Thanks, I think that's the best tone to take for him to see the substance of the complaint.

My apologies for not being around much, been run off my feet, but... the demand that Willow "get her ass back to the thread" is quite unwarranted & I'm in agreement with you guys. Barracuda, you were more than diplomatic with your response. I think Hugh owes miss Willow an apology for that horse shit.

All I can say to that is that any correspondence of this nature between myself and Hugh is colored very deeply by the history of our previous encounters, so there is probably a lot between the lines there for him to read. I don't think a gentleman needs to be told to apologize, and a cad wouldn't do so no matter how many times he is told, so I left it at that in order to forestall any complaints on his part regarding the crux of our request, or prejudice on my part.

Suspended Hugh here last night:

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=30441&start=105

Three keyord highjack posts on the thread, and trolling the fuck out of me. Haven't posted a notice, just wanted him off my back. Let him out if you want, I really don't care.

Do I have a fucking target painted on my back today?

Makes me wonder if it isn't about time to pass the mod duty to some other lucky person here. I'd hate to be hogging all the fun.

I didn't see that Hugh was suspended, so I did it myself to make sure. Gave him three days:

viewtopic.php?p=413655#p413655

Sorry I wasn't around for this. Logged in all night, but slept through it.

I think we need to add to the mod crew. You're carrying too much on your shoulders.

It might be a good idea, not that the task is in any way exhausting, but simply because familiarity has definitely bred contempt around here.

I really have no interest in creating a situation in which my personal views become the defacto status quo against which people rail, as occurred to an extent in the critical thinking thread. And judging by threads like this:

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=32554

I've become the focus of some disruptive behaviour that's not doing anyone any good or furthering much in the way of dialogue here.

Maybe it's time to hang up my skates.

Sounds like you're pretty burned out on the mod front. And seriously, no wonder.

Sent you a pm suggesting Searcher08 as a mod. Lemme know what you think, and who else you might suggest.

I actually quite enjoy being associated with the management of this place. But I do think it's time we deflect some of the attention away from me as sort of the sole palpable representative that everyone can get their hands on. Someimes it feels like the board thinks I made the rules up all by myself in order to justify a personal tyranny.

Searcher's a good idea. I'm still thinking about other options.
