An idea whose time has come?

Postby barracuda » Thu Sep 15, 2011 11:55 pm

Does anyone else get the feeling this thread is the prelude to a pidgeon drop?

I have to make mention of his technique of ceremonially quitting the forum before grudgingly floating his nebulous idea and suggesting those interested should join him on his own forum at a later date. Gotta try that myself sometime. Phishing the personal message pool perhaps?

Here's a thread on an online-privacy activism forum in which Harvey or one of his partners involved in the AntiPhorm business he mentions makes a pitch:

http://www.badphorm.co.uk/e107_plugins/ ... php?5687.0

The tech talk here is over my head, but it seems as if they think the software might have a ride-along component which funnels pay-for-page-view monies to the software company without the knowledge of the user.

Thoughts?

I have had the same thought. Long on fuzzy concept, short on specifics. Maybe I'll ask a couple of questions tonight on the thread to see where they take me.

I'm just seeing this now, and I agree with you 'cuda.

The whole thing has a strange odor to it.

I just asked him for a clear and concise description of his idea.

Let's see what happens.

Let's not scare him away, now. He says he's going to make his proposal on his RI blog, which is nice, and has disqualified Amway, which hopefully means perhaps we're not talking about a multi-level marketing scheme. So far so good. But if the idea is health-and-wellness related, watch out.

Waiting is.

In the Spiritual Awakening thread, the passage on which Nordic asks for elaboration also caught my eye. Interesting development in the light of the idea whose time has come.

I have seen God and I have a few sketchy business ideas that could make us all rich: pm me for details.

Indeed. But, I have seen God and he makes me think of Breivik differently now?

Oh, for the love of...

It's almost like he's hired a P.R. firm to advise him on image maintenance in the interest of venture capital.

I hope we're just grumpy cynics.

Anyone else investigated the link in Harvey's spiritual awakening post?

Metta Zetty's portal gets you to...

Maybe this post is an attempt at a new tack since he seems to be getting no response to his blog ideas.

Is there a way to track PM activity? Not necessarily the content, but the frequency and the nodes in the net?

Not really, unfortunately.

But that gives me an idea. Do we have anything in the guidelines yet re solicitation via pm? I don't think so. Maybe the rules could stand a tweak.
