When you danced around a very direct question I asked you — quite persistently, I should add — about the uniqueness of the Holocaust, this puzzled me further because it was a simple question, the answer to which is blatantly obvious.

Page 79 of a group of you denying or rigidly ignoring the racist and even nazi elements in the statements by Atzmon quoted already on Page 1. Page 79 of a group of you coming up with every piece of sophistry to pretend these statements had an excuse or a context or was justified by his chosen enemies (like, if he gets Dershowitz mad it's good no matter what he says). Page 79 of a smaller group (including eyeno with his Passion of the Christ jew-hatred) going beyond that to promote even more explicitly racist statements (and nazi, like the quoted matter from Madsen). After bending into pretzel shapes to give an obscure exculpatory context to Atzmon's outrageous statements, now you would deny to c2w? the immediate context of the 79 preceding pages in which her patience and tact and careful explications and research presentations were misrepresented, ignored, browbeaten and smacked with bullshit before she finally said: Fuck it!

As I said to you in a pm, I have a real problem with your sig line. It is a non-productive provocation at best, and worst, well, I wish you'd explain that to me.

I can't imagine C2W turning stone to anyone's suffering, so from where did this assumption arise that because C2W is Jewish, she doesn't care about other atrocities throughout history? How could that assumption be anything except its own form of hatred?

Because I speak to the issues of RA/MC on this board the majority of the time, does that automatically render me insensitive or uncaring towards other atrocity? Can't you see that you're propagating the very sort of comparison which seems to have alienated you to begin with?

SLAD had just spent many posts incoherently defending the thread's constant hate rhetoric against Jews because of her completely unrelated feeling that genocide against the Irish is somehow suppressed from history, which a) it isn't and b) it certainly wasn't by anyone on this board and c) had nothing to do with that thread. Unlike Atzmon's unprovoked rhetorical attacks, which seem designed to split the Palestinian solidarity movement, c2w? took a great deal of provocation and tolerated a lot of hateful bullshit before she answered with what Little Miss Erin Go Fuck Herself and a bunch of others had coming.

Stephen Morgan is a misanthrope satirist who likes to push buttons and envelopes. He gets slapped when he goes too far, as he should be.

The only time I got pissed off at SLAD was for bringing up the Irish genocide too many times, and leaping on me for referring to it as the 'famine.' It should NEVER be invoked by way of comparison with the Shoah, in that 'So why are the Jews so special?' way. That's what gives a whiff of anti-semitism, SLAD.

C2W and Alice are both brilliant-- brilliant is not a term I overuse-- and it made me sick to see that pissant troll Eyeno finally derail the obviously irresoluble Atzmon thread. A ton of reason and passion were so hard at work there.

I think people walk away quickly and unequivocally when their emotional health is at risk. The old me would have made jokes about drama queens, the newer model understands that many of the ideas and principles discussed here are of crucial importance... and that some RIers take personal risks by going 'all in' in ways that I can't/won't/am not qualified.
