I am intrigued by reports that Adam Lanza was involved in an "altercation" at the school on the Thursday before the shooting. Have those reports been debunked?

Krysos - no. I did wonder if I might be taken that way. I apologize. I should have been more clear.

More weirdness. Remember gingerbread man, Chris Manfredonia? Who may or may not have been the man in camo pants and dark jacket led from the surrounding woods in handcuffs to a police cruiser, where he was seen and reported by witnesses on the 14th? From back on pg. 16:

Following the shooting, Police were "questioning a handcuffed suspect in connection with the Newtown school shooting," the Connecticut Post tweeted. A witness told Jany that a man "was led out of the woods by police in handcuffs."

I'm guessing this is the culprit, also published on the 14th:

Chris Manfredonia, whose 6-year-old daughter attends the school, was heading there Friday morning to help make gingerbread houses with first-graders when he heard popping sounds and smelled sulfur.

He ran around the school trying to reach his daughter and was briefly handcuffed by police. He later found his child, who had been locked in a small room with a teacher.

Now it appears that this black Honda Civic --

not Lauren Rousseau's Honda Civic, the one with the three bulletholes, but the one identified in press reports as "the car driven by Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza" -- is registered to local criminal Christopher Rodia (not Manfredonia, but close), who was arrested last July for stealing copper from a construction project:

Christopher Rodia, 42, of Norwalk, was charged Saturday with stealing copper gutters from a house construction site on Stony Brook Road in Westport.

This according to a police scanner audio recording from the 14th found at 13:20 here:

Via Dave Emory's Spitfire Report found here: http://spitfirelist.com/news/the-camo-p ... t-it-isnt/ . I haven't yet listened to the scanner report.

Here's how you know that this is the sloppiest kind of reporting on the part of Dave Emory: why didn't he check to find police reports from Fairfield County Police on Chris Rodia? Why didn't he check the vehicle registrations on the two license numbers given on the feed? Isn't that kind of stuff available to a well known radio journalist? Does he not have the connections to run a lisence plate and find out the registrant? Does it just satisfy the worldview of himself and his listeners to pump more bad, unsourced information into the stream?

lupercal wrote:I haven't yet listened to the scanner report.

I'm not sure why you haven't, or why you would post this as fact without listening to the evidence right in front of you. Anyway, here's my take on it from looking around the web and listening to the scanner feed. The scanner report is, as far as I can tell, the only evidence that is being used to tie the license number of the black late model Honda to Christopher Rodia. Listen to it carefully for about 45 seconds or a minute, beginning at about 30:10 and tell me if you actually hear the vehicle identified as belonging to Rodia. You won't. That's because the police interaction with Rodia is not happening at the school, and the officer supposedly identifying the car as Rhodia's is at a traffic stop somewhere else. You can hear the officer who names Rodia at about the 25:00 mark say, "33 to Headquarters, motor vehicle stop." Then at about 25:37 he says, "722-ZHA, radar," meaning the license number was pulled over for a radar traffic stop. At the very least, the evidence is highly equivocal, and should have been checked via the accessible public records regarding traffic stops.

The problem here is that the radio feed on that video is composed of a wide variety of sources, and not all of them are working on the school shooting. And Dave Emory should know better, but unfortunately it's in his best interest not to.

By this standard lupercal is not Lanza, but close.

Just listened. Clear as a bell, in fact repeated twice, starting at 31:00: "872-YEO, Alaska (?), 872-YEO, possible suspect vehicle, roger, pause, Rugby-Operator (noise), last name is R-O-D-I-A, Christopher A., August 6, '69. 10-4." Some words-for-letters and encryption noise omitted.

Jack I'm sure you'll get a warm hearing for that nonsense from the perfectly-normal-nothing-to-see-here brigade.

Merry Christmas.

I just reviewed the audio feed archives for the Fairfield County Police, Fire, and EMS over at radioreference.com on December 14th between 10:00 and 10:10. None of the encryption distortion is overlayed and it's pretty obvious that there is an ongoing traffic stop of the license number 722-ZHA beginning at 10:00:15. The same voice that performs the stop reads the Rodia information.

It cost me seven bucks for a membership there, and that's all the time and money I'm putting into this this, but by any standard, it's more than Dave Emory did.

FYI - just because it's on spitfirelist doesn't mean Dave Emory wrote any of that. I'd guess most recent posts are from the 'cobbler elves' helping keep the site going. FtR is still on hiatus while Dave concentrates on his day job. Not sure how much he's writing for the site. some, yes. but not all.

A whole enterprise, complete with fiscal outlay, in order to prove a point that no one cared about in the first place and was moot, to boot!

Gotcha.

People who know me know that I've been known to pay for things that interest me that I want to know more about so long as the price is not too dear. It's a "fool and his money" sorta thing. But it seems to me that the possibility of a second shooter is a central feature of this discussion.

Anyway, I uploaded the Fairfield County Police, Fire, and EMS audio feeds which feature in the Christopher Rodia piece of this cul-de-sac. Here they are, make your own conclusions regarding The Strange Case of Christopher Rodia:
