The Outer Space Connection !
narrated by none other than, Rod Serling!

not to be confused with the other Rod Serling ufo documentary, "It has Begun" (1973) or his narration of the pilot for "In Search Of..."

and here we have part 1 (you can find the other parts) of Monsters! Mysteries or Myths? (1974)

and finally(?) ...

Encounter With The Unknown
actual movie starts at 2:14...

Interesting angle/question JD.

Years ago abduction researcher Karla Turner and I were asking the question of whether any blind/visually-impaired folk were having the experiences. Similar questions surrounded the ethnicity of the experiencers.

About the only demographic data available has been these two sources:

* The Abduction Enigma: An Investigation of the Alien Abduction Phenomenon by Kevin D. Randle, Russ Estes, William P. Cone
* The Omega Project: Near-Death Experiences, Ufo Encounters, and Mind at Large by Kenneth Ring

See posts at the UFO UpDates eList on abductee demographics such as ...

That looks interesting.

I'll give it a read if I get the time.

But I got more unpaid laundry to do!

Under 40?

Sadly not.

I wasn't abducted though.

It was a meeting of equals.

Alarm bells after UFO appears over Jamnagar refinery
Amitav Ranjan : New Delhi, Sat Feb 09 2013, 01:49 hrs

One evening a little over a fortnight ago, a mysterious illuminated object appeared without warning in the dark sky above the world's largest oil refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat. It circled over the complex before disappearing just as suddenly as it had appeared.

Three days later, the object returned, this time a little after dawn. This time, the process cameras at the Reliance Industries Ltd refinery managed to take a few pictures of the object. It was bright and spherical.

RIL has reported the sightings to the government, along with the pictures. The Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard have been put on alert, and the defence ministry is beefing up security for the refinery, sources said.

The incidents are being kept a tightly guarded secret. There is no firm assumption yet on what the object might have been. The refinery is located on the Gulf of Kutch, close to the Pakistan border, and has long been seen as a potential target for a terror attack from both air and sea.

In April 2012, the Intelligence Bureau had issued an alert saying that oil refineries on the west coast were under threat from the Lashkar-e-Toiba. The alert specifically mentioned targets including the RIL refinery complex.

On January 30, RIL executive director P M S Prasad wrote to Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily, describing the sightings.

"On 24 January 2013 around 8.30 pm, one unidentified bright object, perceived to be of the size of a volleyball, was seen hovering over the refinery. It was seen to circle four times before disappearing," Prasad wrote.

"It could have been treated as a one-off occurrence, however the morning of 27 January again witnessed the same phenomenon between 6.30 and 7.00 am. Process cameras installed in the refinery caught some images."

Prasad pointed out that "local forces and capabilities are ill-equipped to deal with high-technology air-borne assaults, should anyone try and attempt them", and asked Moily to take up the matter with the defence and home ministries in order to "upgrade and maintain vigil on the complex" and to "investigate the incident on top priority" so as to "thwart any possible misadventure in the future".

The Jamnagar refinery's two units have the capacity to process 62 million tonnes of crude annually, which is 27 per cent of India's total refining capacity. An incident at the refinery complex would significantly affect production of oil and cooking gas.

Despite the danger, the refinery continues to be protected only by a 250-member commando unit of the Central Industrial Security Force which provides perimeter security on the side of both the sea and the city.
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

An Airship Photograph

I am probably one of the worst people when it comes to promoting my work. I think that others should do that and that each book should generate interest because of what is in it rather than what I have to say about it. But, sometimes, there are reasons to promote what I have written… and sometimes it is important to report what others have done to make the book even better.

Such is the case with Alien Mysteries, Conspiracies and Cover-ups. One of those who was helping find illustrations made a telephone call that I hadn’t thought about. He found a photograph that I didn’t know existed.

Back in April, 1897, the Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette carried a story about a Great Airship that had fallen, crashed, came to rest on the fairgrounds of Waterloo, Iowa. There was a human crew, complete with a German professor, and a tale of tragedy.

There was an airship on the ground, though no one, other than the crew, suggested it have ever been off the ground. After hours of telling the story to all who would listen, one of the men was recognized as a Waterloo resident and the tale collapsed. The hoax was exposed.

Image

I had an illustration that appeared in the Cedar Rapids newspaper but since this was a hoax I never made the trip to Waterloo… oh, but I should have. Imagine my surprise and I first saw a photograph of the Waterloo airship from their newspaper, the Waterloo Courier. Not a drawing, wood cutting, or illustration. An actual photograph of the airship sitting in the bright sunlight of the nineteenth century.

Image

As you can see, the Gazette drawing is accurate, but then, it’s not the same as a photograph from the Courier… which might be the only photograph of one of the Great Airships… and please note that I said, “Might.”

The point… the photograph appears in the book. It isn’t the only photograph. There are many, but it was the one that stunned me when I first saw it. Just never thought there would be an actual photograph… but it does suggest something about research. There is always another stone to be turned over, another archive to search, and another government office to deny that anything is out there.

For those interested, the book Alien Mysteries, Conspiracies and Cover-ups, should be available about now.

De Void
Russell Crowe conquers Google Snooze
Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:47 by Billy Cox

<snip>

De Void feels a little strange about raising this next point, because it’ll sound pathetic and self-serving. But the Russell Crowe overkill raises serious doubts about the competence of the editors setting priorities at Google News. And (here’s the pathetic part) it’s not just because they began dropping De Void links shortly after the first of the year. De Void can’t blame them for that; this joint is like the Talking Heads’ version of heaven, A Place Where Nothing Ever Happens. Still, you’d think it might be worth at least a mention when a former CIA chief/SecDef fails to repudiate a veteran intelligence officer for claiming The Agency has Roswell files sitting in its archives.

That’s what happened last month, when Robert Gates came through Sarasota and was asked about Chase Brandon’s surprise claim last summer. Google News swarmed all over Brandon’s little bombshell nine months ago, but when De Void published Gates’ response — which also included the retired director’s statement that he’d never had a UFO briefing or seen any evidence thereof — it didn’t meet Google News’ high standards. What Google News editors found more compelling last month were details about another kind of UFO: United Flying Octogenarians, a link to a piece about an old-timer pilots’ club in Texas. Google News also did a Russell Crowe-like carpet-bombing over Hollywood animator Aristomenis Tsirbas’s fake UFO footage, which was kind of interesting, but, like, everybody fakes UFO footage these days. Oh, and Google News also continues to reference Ringside News’ perverse and fabricated UFO stories.
