I don't know where Obama and Cameron get this Levant ISIL stuff. Islamic State even hashtag and metags online as "#ISIS".

I think the neo-cons prefer to include "Levant" because it leaves no doubt that Israel is threatened by ISIL.

If one thinks of the word's etymology in terms of European colonialism, then i take your point in equating it with "oriental".

Israel seems to have no problem with ISIS.

Netanyahu says the US should stay out of Iraq and Syria and NOT attack ISIS, and thinks ISIS will be good to attack Iran.

I can't tell from the quotes in that article if Netanyahu refers to the group as ISIS or ISIL.

When they have served their purpose and he wants them out of the way, i bet he refers to them as ISIL.

I like the term 'the Levant.' Some of our more public fools used it publicly, and I just couldn't resist. As-Salaam alaikum.

French Hostage Hervé Gourdel beheading...no blood like the others...jump to the 4:10 minute mark...

http://leaksource.info/2014/09/24/graphic-video-islamic-state-algerian-group-beheads-french-hostage-herve-gourdel/

A video has been released showing the beheading of a French hostage being held by a Algerian group affiliated with the Islamic State (IS).

Hervé Gourdel, 55, was being held by a group calling themselves Jund al-Khilafah, or Soldiers of the Caliphate. The group released a video two days ago saying it had kidnapped the French citizen while he was hiking in the heart of the Djurdjura National Park in Algeria. In the video a masked militant said Gourdel would die within 24-hours unless France halted its airstrikes on Iraq.

France rejected the group’s 24-hour ultimatum, with Hollande vowing the country would not be deterred from continuing its military action.

The video released today, entitled “A Message with Blood to the French Government”, employs a similar style to those used in previous videos by IS showing the beheadings of three/Western/hostages.

It begins with a clip of Hollande at a press conference where he announced strikes against IS in Iraq.

The video then shows Gourdel on his knees with his hands behind his back in front of four armed militants with covered-up faces.

The Frenchman briefly expresses his love for his family before one of the jihadists reads a speech in which he denounces the actions of the “French criminal crusaders” against Muslims in Algeria, Mali and Iraq.

It seems like this is becoming more of a fad than an actual "movement". It's becoming normalized or something. Something "cool". I can't tell.

That is an awfully broad brush you are painting with. Not all Americans are dumb. In fact most of us are not, the ones who are just get the most attention.

Regardless of what other foreigners say about America and Americans many of them sure still strive to be just like us in a lot of ways and a lot of them would love to live in this country if they had the chance.

It is not the American people that are the problem, we are not our government or its foreign policy.

Thats pretty judgemental considering I never said all (or any) americans are stupid. That's something you brought into it, not me. So keep your broad brush judgements about me to yourself and try asking what I mean if you want to know.

Oklahoma beheading: Attacker had just been fired from food company, police said
A woman killed in a business rampage was beheaded, a source reports. Moore police said the attacker was shot by an off-duty Oklahoma County Sheriff’s reserve deputy
FROM STAFF REPORTS • Modified: September 26, 2014 at 12:44 pm • Published: September 26, 2014

MOORE — A man fired from his job Thursday beheaded one of his coworkers and stabbed another before being shot by a company executive, police said Friday morning.

Colleen Hufford, 54, died Thursday after she was attacked by Alton Nolen, 30, who had just been fired from his job at Vaughan Foods Co., 216 NE 12, police said

Moore police have asked the FBI for assistance in investigating the beheading after employees of the business told police Nolen recently tried to convert coworkers to Islam.

Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said at a Friday morning news conference that Nolen had just been fired when he went into the front office and attacked Hufford. Nolen severed Hufford’s head using a knife police said he may have used at his job to cut lettuce and vegetables at the food processing plant.

After killing Hufford, Nolen attacked Traci Johnson, 43, with the same knife. Mark Vaughan, the chief operating officer at Vaughan Foods, then confronted and shot Nolen. Vaughan is a reserve Oklahoma County deputy, Lewis said.

“There’s no doubt Vaughan saved Traci Johnson’s life,” Lewis said.

Johnson and Nolen were taken to OU Medical Center on Thursday, and Lewis said Friday their injuries were not life-threatening.

Saad Mohammad, a spokesman for the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, said leaders of the society’s mosque in northwest Oklahoma City are on alert and taking security precautions to protect the Muslims who gather there from any violence that someone might try to attempt in retaliation for the Moore incident.

Mohammad said the anti-Muslim sentiments people may have could be heightened due to the beheadings and violence being perpetrated by the Islamic extremist group ISIS overseas.

“They have this ISIS thing on their minds and now this guy has brought it to America,” Mohammad said.

Court records show that Nolen was convicted on drug-related charges and of assaulting an officer in 2011. In October 2010, Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Betsy Randolph pulled Nolen over and attempted to arrest him on outstanding warrants. While the trooper was attempting to handcuff Nolen a struggle ensued and the trooper was assaulted. Nolen fled into nearby woods, troopers said. A manhunt involving four law enforcement agencies and two helicopters lasted 12 hours before Nolen was apprehended.

In March, Nolen was sent to the Davis Correctional Center in Holdenville where he stayed for seven months before he was transferred to the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center in Lexington, said state Corrections Department spokesman Jerry Massie. Nolen spent the final year of his sentence at the department’s Lawton and Oklahoma City community correction centers.

Massie said Nolen had no misconduct record during his time in the Oklahoma prison system. He was discharged in March 2013.

On Facebook, a woman believed to be Nolen’s sister wrote: “He is alive and doing well. Thanks to all praying warriors out there friends and family. To god be the glory! My bro is alive and just know that the devil is a lie. Please continue prayers.”

why the beheadings "looked" fake (no blood), it's a silent message to get "on-board" for all the willing followers out there. Since it was clearly being treated as unquestionably 'real' by Officialdom, only a fool would question; and so not a single question raised anywhere in the 'news media' - heck, I guess ISIS really did behead those hostages.

Also, it encourages copycats, seeing the real messy hell of it would surely have put off many potential monkey-see-monkey-doers.

Begs the question of why would any Muslim want to be anywhere near OK anyhow. I have no plans myself to ever visit OK. Did you guys see this?

Yet another one I guess. I am only left to think of the motivation of the actual dude that is apparently doing these purported executions. Does he work hourly? Is he a contractor? This is getting super old and it shows the abject lack of creativity on the part of whoever is doing this. Could this be an effort to just get us "used" to this shit?

I just don't get the angle on staging up the same guy in a bleak desert background and just chop off head after head and what he thinks he is accomplishing. I think that the "audience" is starting to glaze over on this. The ace up the sleeve seems to be that the dude is anglo. This has to be by an occluded design meant to look menacing, yet harmless. It's almost as if isis has a parental advisory board.

I can't "care" about an unknown man (someone I was unfamiliar with) in Iraq that purportedly gets his head sawed off. I care as in care. But I can't care about this stupid evil narrative. The birth of this evil happened by the hand of who created this.

A very plausible hypothesis:

Phil Greaves ‏@PhilGreaves01 · 26. Sep.

Here's my theory on the Foley/Sotloff execution vids: one of the US' willing clients, Turkey, Saudi, Israel, Kuwait, or Qatar had their Wahhabi death squads execute the journos & stage the videos as if it were ISIS (they may well be ISIS or some other contras) in a blatant attempt to sway the public into supporting US direct intervention. And it worked a treat because the entire media circus sold the State Dept line, verbatim, without question.

Aijaz ‏@aijazmoin · 26. Sep.

@PhilGreaves01 And online journalists silenced voices which questioned the authenticity of those videos.

So again, we can thank NATO's media lackeys & charlatans for manipulating public opinion in favour of the Wests latest war of aggression.

US Vice-President Joe Biden has accused America’s key allies in the Middle East of allowing the rise of the Islamic State (IS), saying they supported extremists with money and weapons in their eagerness to oust the Assad regime in Syria.
