Old Russian engines, and some new cost-effective/contracted Virgin technology. Hey... it's not rocket science.

I hear the Hebrew are looking for their mashiach and believe the year 5775 is the year of the mashiach. I'm pretty sure they're looking for an Aries.

Antares, the proper name of this star, derives from the Ancient Greek Άντάρης, meaning "equal to-Ares" ("equal to-Mars"), due to the similarity of its reddish hue to the appearance of the planet Mars.

Huh? Aries is a constellation in the solar zodiac that preceded Pisces as the first constellation of spring. Ares is the Greek name for the planet Mars. And Antares is the brightest star in the constellation of Scorpio. You really need to work on those beliefs of yours.

There is a positively devastating article on Branson's Nitrous Oxide rocket at the Telegraph. It seems there were multiple warnings about the safety of this craft and the positive certainty among many experts in the field that this would happen. It's just a shame that someone had to lose the love of her life in order to make this obvious to the entire world. And Branson is planning on taking his son on the first trip? Reminds me of the idiot who tried to prove his new live virus polio vaccine was safe by giving it to his daughter, who promply developed polio.

I have quite a few observations, but I am sick of branson being referred to as "sir" first and foremost. What is it with england and their "sir" shit?

I'm getting real sick of this petty squabbling. Where are the mods in this? Are we allowed to just throw epithets at each other? I'm sorry, I thought I was able to express my opinion here. Thank you for the information on Antares, but I still see these as a conjunction of words and not an alliteration of Antares. And I'm am sure if we examined the "mythology" behind Ares and Antares, we'd see that they are opposing forces. It is said the devil made all stinging beasts of this world, I'd say a scorpion qualifies. You need only google Aries and these eclipses together to come up with the information that this marks the changing of this age. You may trust what I say, or merely watch as all this unfolds before you, for there is no stopping what is in motion now.

^^Antares means 'equal to Ares'. What you think or believe doesn't really matter if you can't be bothered to spend 10 seconds looking it up and checking your facts.

You're online - ignorance is not an excuse, and if you start running to the mods just because someone corrects you it doesn't really help your case.

I will not be drawn into a fight. I stand by what I've said. Calling out the mods was cowardly, I apologize.

Show me another explosion as impressive as this that killed no one.

it depends on what day of the week it is

it's a rough crowd here thrulookingglass......some people get off on the "correcting"....

epithets?....sometimes it's down right vulgarity ...get used to it...it happens

ignore is the best option.....haven't you noticed the correction crowd has been prolific the last couple of days? It's not just you

@Slad: For my part, no, I don't get off on it (most of the time 8) ), but seeing people base their conclusions on false assumptions really bugs me (and yes, that includes myself, and yes, I want people to point out factual errors and errors in my reasoning - that's how I learn. Otherwise I might as well sit in a cave and make stuff up).

@thrulookingglass: Not trying to pick a fight, just pointing out what I believe was a false assumption on your part. If you can point out where I'm wrong I'm all ears.

Edit: And if I come across as an insufferable tool, apologies. Not my intention. I know my social skills could use some work.

Eh, come on guys. There is seriously no reason to argue. It is only a harmless discussion. I see nothing in this thread to get upset over. If we were all in the same room would we need a babysitter/mod? No. So don't worry about it. No harm, no foul I say.

I didn't mention you by name..so there's that

When all I read from a poster here is correcting other posters in a put down your stupid fashion as opposed to bringing some new and different original stuff to the table ..it's annoying and of no use to me..all here are very intelligent and can figure out their reality on their own don't need any help from the cnowitall correction crowd running rampant feeling the need to help the rest of us understand their view of the facts.

you got Aries WRONG how earth shattering...how stupid

very annoying to pile on a new person (person that does not post often/wonder why) who is not seasoned in the way of life here....it is very unwelcoming

two ways of correction...just stating what facts you have ... stating your facts and you're an idiot/lazy/fool for not knowing what I know

Haven't seen anyone squabble with you, they're just expressing indignation that once they scratch the surface of what you're saying, there's no actual content there but some Bible citations. You can express your opinion here indefinitely as long as you've got username and a working internet connection. Then others can express their opinions about your opinions.

Complaining about this as if you're being targeted and unfairly persecuted is a great way to encourage people to simply ignore you in the future, so I don't think there's any need for intervention here.

Edit: I would, however, like to make a statement in favor of naive realism. There is such a thing as being wrong. Recently, I really believed that Bill Cosby was a Prince Hall Mason. Someone here asked me to prove that and I realized it as an assumption I inherited from something I read and never critically examined, like 99% of my other beliefs. Should I have ignored the question because it made me uncomfortable? Should I have taken the request for documentation as a personal affront?

Yes, definitely.

Sorry, but pointing out an error is not 'piling on'. The 'piling on' bit happens when the person in question refuses to acknowledge that they were wrong and keeps insisting that they are in fact right, contrary to all evidence presented.

by all means keep pointing....but the view of piling on depends on where one is in the pile

and surely he should wait till he gets called some really vicious names to complain ..just warning him it's in the cards...present company excluded
