The presence of $230k in cash indicates enough liquidity for $5 million dollars in assets to be reasonable. It's curious that the number of guns seized is now varying by a nicely Spartan 300 -- first it was 1200, now it's "roughly 1500" weapons in the evidence locker's new Lash Memorial Annex.

Image

What gets me is the $5m figure, though. Let's be generous, since it makes basic division easier, and assume that there are indeed 1500 firearms in question. That means these are worth an average of USD $3,333 each. Safe to assume the sole photograph we've seen of LEOs laying weapons on tarps was not representative of his collection, then. (Probably also worth considering that it is just a file photo that got attached to this story by lazy editing and internet echo chambers.)

I mention all this minutae because if Lash was a "collector," he was collecting an actual military armory of fully outfitted AR-15 style assault rifles, which generally go for...well, more or less $2-3k. My dad retired to just being a "collector" and his rifles are worth far more, but they're also antiques in near mint condition.

This other photograph is interesting because my, those are some serious rifles he had. A couple highly controlled substances on that tarp.

Image

It is depressing but unsurprising to see major media outlets still repeating the "underwater SUV" line -- that's good James Bond style red meat for the USA Today tards, I get it. It just quietly drives me nuts to see how much dumber America can get, year after year.

His posthumous attorney has furnished a camera photo snippet of Lash's personal inventory, which, while utterly inconclusive, is remarkably low-rent stuff.

Image

The ATF knows a great deal more about Jeffrey Alan Lash than they'll ever admit, at this point. How his inventory came into his possession is extremely important information that will mostly likely never get released to the public, except as a single-sentence talking point when it is time to wrap this up and flush it down the memory hole.

Some previous SoCal rabbit holes are worth re-visiting.

Via: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Ford

Following police questioning on March 2, Ford committed suicide with a shotgun at his Woodbridge home. His suicide note claimed he was innocent of the attempted murder, but added that there was information hidden in the house of interest to the police. When authorities searched the home, they discovered containers buried next to his swimming pool containing assault rifles and C-4 plastic explosives. In refrigerator at his home, were 266 bottles and vials of pathogens. Among them were the bacterial agents of Clostridium tetani and Clostridum difficile.

Some 83 files with medical records and personal items taken by Ford from his female patients were found as trophies hidden in the ground as well. Dr. Vikki Hufnagel who had been filing complaints about Ford to the California Medical Board CMB for years had been repeatedly threaten by Larry . Detective Victor Ray informed Vikki that a file existed in which Ford was planning to kill her.Hufnagel filed to the authorities and the CMB a formal complaint on 01/14/2013 to remove Ford's medical license and to fully investigate the 83 files as well as the cases of two women whom were Ford's mistresses until they came down with toxic diseases which Ford told others he had infected Tammi Tippit and Shane Gregory with. Mike Wallace of 60 minutes interviewed these women on 2/03/2009 in a segment titled "Dr.Death". Ford was in the news years earlier when he was shot in the UCLA parking lot and saw his shooter. It was alleged that Ford was shot by the husband of patient he was having an affair with at the time.

Neighbors gasped when authorities showed them photos of the inside of the Southern California ranch-style home: Crates of grenades, mason jars of white, explosive powder and jugs of volatile chemicals that are normally the domain of suicide bombers.

Prosecutors say Serbian-born George Jakubec quietly packed the home with the largest amount of homemade explosives ever found in one location in the U.S. and was running a virtual bomb-making factory in his suburban neighborhood. How the alleged bank robber obtained the chemicals and what he planned to do with them remain mysteries.

Now authorities face the risky task of getting rid of the explosives. The property is so dangerous and volatile that that they have no choice but to burn the home to the ground this week in a highly controlled operation involving dozens of firefighters, scientists and hazardous material and pollution experts.

Authorities went into the home after Jakubec was arrested, but encountered a maze of floor-to-ceiling junk and explosives that included 13 unfinished shrapnel grenades.

Bomb experts pulled out about nine pounds of explosive material and detonated it, but they soon realized it was too dangerous to continue given the quantity of hazardous substances. A bomb-disposing robot was ruled out because of the obstacle of all the junk Jakubec hoarded.

And yet another part of the area's history:

Crack Cop

FBI documents link an ex-Laguna cop and drug runner to an Irvine executive with ties to the CIA

By Nick Schou Thursday, Jul 12 2001

The CIA has always denied it used drug traffickers to raise cash for Ronald Reagan's 1980s war against the Nicaraguan Sandinista government. But FBI documents recently released to the OC Weekly show that a former top agency official met throughout that period with Ronald J. Lister, an ex-Laguna Beach cop who claimed to be the CIA's link between the South American cocaine trade, the Nicaraguan contras and LA's most notorious drug trafficker.

The FBI documents, five heavily censored pages released in response to the Weekly's 1997 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the CIA, concern Lister and William Earl Nelson, a vice president for security with the Irvine-based construction giant Fluor Corp. Nelson's previous job: deputy director of operations for the CIA. Nelson retired from the CIA in 1976 amid heated controversy over its ill-fated forays into Chile and Angola—clandestine operations that Nelson supervised from his office at the CIA's Langley, Virginia, headquarters.

Lister's relationship with the Fluor executive began in 1978. How they met isn't clear, thanks to government censors. But the documents do show that Nelson told FBI agents he met with Lister three to four times per year until 1985 and discussed various business ventures, including one in Central America.

It's unclear from the documents what became of that project—FBI censors blocked out the details, arguing that revealing them might compromise U.S. national security. But independent sources suggest the deal probably involved Lister's mysteriously well-connected security company, Newport Beach-based Pyramid International Security Consultants Inc.

'A BIG CIA CONTACT'

Lister's jump from police work in Laguna Beach—the Mayberry of Orange County—to life as a security advisor in war-torn Central America is just as strange as it sounds. In 1969, he served as a military policeman, interrogating captured North Vietnamese soldiers. Then, after a few years with the Maywood Police Department, Lister joined the Laguna Beach PD, where he worked as a burglary detective.

In 1979, a year before Lister quit the Laguna Beach force and just months after he first met Nelson, he launched Pyramid to carry out private security work.

There's no question that Pyramid was involved in some highly unusual business in Central America. According to a 1998 U.S. Justice Department Inspector General report, the company was investigated by the FBI at least five times between 1983 and 1986. "In September 1983, Lister's company, Pyramid International Security Consultants, was listed as the subject of a neutrality violation investigation involving the sale of weapons to El Salvador and the loan of money from Saudi Arabia to the Salvadoran government," the report states. "Lister was also alleged to be attempting to sell arms to several other countries."

El Salvador circa the early 1980s was not open for business to just anybody. The entire region was wracked by civil wars and coups d'etat; El Salvador's military-led government was engaged in a systematic campaign of torture and murder against anyone branded a communist or subversive. But in a 1996 interview with San Jose Mercury News reporter Gary Webb, former Pyramid employee Christopher Moore (another ex-Laguna Beach cop) claimed Lister shrugged off the dangers of doing business there. Lister reportedly told Moore he had "a big CIA contact" at an Orange County company and both Pyramid and its employees would be protected while in El Salvador.

"I can't remember his name, but Ron was always running off to meetings with him, supposedly," Moore told Webb. "Ron said the guy was the former deputy director of operations or something, real high up there. All I know is that this supposed contact of his was working at the Fluor Corp. because I had to call Ron out there a couple of times."

Moore said he traveled to El Salvador on Lister's behalf, accompanied by a Spanish-speaking man who said he worked at the Salvadoran consulate in Los Angeles. Once in the capital city of San Salvador, Moore says, he met face to face with Roberto D'Aubuisson, a former Salvadoran army intelligence officer, drug and weapons dealer, and leader of the right-wing ARENA party. But D'Aubuisson's legacy is darker still: he was the architect of El Salvador's paramilitary death squads, a Hitler admirer, and a sociopath reputed to have personally authorized the 1980 murder of Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero.

Family and friends of Dawn Marie Vadbunker.

Kaylyn Jones and Melody Hannon are Dawn's daughters.

The "Laura" mentioned is Laura Vadbunker (adopted mother, person who filed missing person report, and source of alien story).

Note that Dawn's closest family think Laura knows more, Dawn has $$ to stay gone, they "knew" about Lash's being government but not alien, and they haven't heard from Dawn.

Michelle Butler is a friend of Dawn's.

Laura is Laura Vadbunker. Seems creepy that Laura takes the roll of grandmother so readily when the connection is the adoptive mother of a 39 year old woman.

I hope that LE is following up with Dawn Marie Vadbunker and Laura (and Dave) Vadbunker to make some sense of this hot mess.

Dave Vadbunker is Dawn Vadbunker's adopted father.

Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/dave.vadbunker

There is nothing on his facebook about adopting Dawn nor Dawn's marriage but he has commented on Dawn's facebook and has Dawn and two daughters as "friends"

David "likes" Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu and Scottish Rite Freemasonry.

He has a sister in Corvallis, OR (I lived in Corvallis 94-98) about 90 minutes south of Portland this is far from Deshutes which is hundreds of miles away in southeast Oregon.

David relates the alien narrative and that there has been no direct contact with Dawn, only a hand written letter with no return address.

Seems to me that Dawn has no immediate ability nor plans to return to California.

Wonder if Dawn is talking to authorities and where she is getting $$?

Gun dealers look to buy arsenal of weapons found at Pacific Palisades home - Los Angeles Times

Posted 2015-07-23 22:39:23 - by Admin

A dead man’s arsenal of weapons discovered inside a Pacific Palisades home is now drawing the interest of gun dealers who are looking to buy some of his stash, an attorney said Thursday.

Harland Braun, who is representing Jeffrey Alan Lash’s fiancee, said he received calls from gun dealers interested in purchasing the now roughly 1,500 firearms -- most of which of were in mint condition -- found stored in the Palisades Drive home.

But Braun quelled any interest in the firearms, saying he advised the gun dealers that they weren’t for sale yet because Los Angeles police were still running background checks on the weapons.

The 6.5 tons of ammunition recovered from the home will likely be destroyed by law enforcement, he said.

Braun’s private investigator is working to catalogue and locate other collections contained in storage lockers throughout the city.

The lockers, he said, may hold military-type vehicles, including a possible amphibious vehicle that travels by land and water.

However, Braun said there is no way of knowing what is inside the lockers until they find them. Lash’s fiancee, Catherine Nebron, didn’t know much about the collections, he said.

“It’s a mystery,” Braun said. “He didn’t clue her into everything he was doing.”

Inside the home, Braun found machetes, bows and arrows, hundreds of CDs and scores of tools. Investigators also found $230,000 in cash.

Los Angeles Police Department Capt. William Hayes, who heads the department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, said the private gun collection was worth at least $500,000 and possibly more than $1 million. Police don’t believe the man ever sold weapons or was a licensed firearms dealer. Police said he was a collector.

Police discovered the man’s body Friday, and later found the massive firearm and ammunition supply inside his fiancee’s Pacific Palisades home.

Braun and several law enforcement sources have identified the dead man as Lash. The L.A. County coroner's office has not officially identified him but is looking for his relatives.

Lash was mysterious, even to people who were close to him.

Braun said he told his fiancee and others that he was working in an undercover capacity for a government agency and was being watched.

She so believed he was under surveillance that when he died, she figured the unnamed government agency he had claimed to work for would come to collect his body.

On July 4, Lash, who suffered from late-stage cancer, began experiencing health issues and died in a Bristol Farms parking lot in Santa Monica, Braun said.

His fiancee, he said, wasn’t sure what to do with the body and left it in a vehicle on Palisades Drive while she headed to Oregon.

Nebron apparently headed to Oregon with Dawn VadBunker, a 39-year-old Oxnard resident whose parents reported her missing when she disappeared after July 4.

VadBunker managed several properties owned by Nebron. VadBunker believed Lash was a part human and part alien hybrid, said her father David VadBunker.

She often talked about Lash, who told people his name was Bob. Dawn VadBunker told her father that the man was “so secret” and that he “is going to save the world.”

David VadBunker said his daughter was with Nebron when the man died.

It is unclear why Dawn VadBunker and Nebron went to Oregon. Dawn VadBunker, her father said, had no ties to Oregon. After she disappeared, her parents went on local TV news, hoping to find her.

She was finally located outside a motel in Deschutes County, Ore. Oxnard police said she expressed deep regret for all the worry she caused.

Her parents, however, still have not talked to their daughter. They said they received a letter on July 16 with no return address that said she was safe.

Her father said she asked for time to heal, and that Nebron also needed time to grieve over Lash's death and wanted to be left alone.

I have gotten lost in the fluff & need to recap :

do i understand that Lash had a stashhouse/storage rental at each location of his 14 vehicles?
& that the reputed 1200-1500 weapons are a cumulative total from all locations?
(oh hold on - the arms cache was all in a one-er @ Nebron's home)
Cant see any indication of the locations themselves.....(thinking that the distribution therof might be telling....might not).

Despite being a conspiratainment whore i'm not blase to a man spending a whole year dying & ending up in a car............

Here is a new article from local media about a second residence, another woman roommate. and lots of other new information. Evidently at least some of the vehicles were parked on the street and moved.

Here is the text:

Dead Man with Weapons Cache Had 2nd Residence in Sunset Mesa, Post Learns

The Palisadian-Post obtained new information today regarding the bizarre life and death of the Highlands man whose decomposing body was discovered in a car near his condo on Palisades Drive where 1,200 guns were recovered.

Jeffrey Alan Lash, identified by attorney Harland Braun as the deceased man, was known to neighbors as “Skinny Bob.” In addition to the Highlands condo, he lived in an apartment on the 18000 block of Coastline Drive in Sunset Mesa for 10 years before he was asked to leave four months ago by his female roommate, according to the apartment property manager.

Paul Aguilar of Coastline Property Management said the lease was under the roommate’s name, “Jocelyn.” The two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the Sunset Mesa hillside near the Getty Villa rents for $3,700 per month and boasts an oceanfront view. (Note: The Sunset Mesa area has a Malibu zip code but is considered by neighbors to be part of Pacific Palisades.)

“He lived with a roommate, Jocelyn, and they seemed to get along well,” Aguilar told the Post. “But in the last few months when his health was disintegrating, he could barely get up and down the stairs. I would help him all the time with his groceries and suggested he find a more accessible place to live.”

Aguilar said Jocelyn had no idea Lash had died until earlier today when Aguilar called her to make sure she was okay.

“She had no idea, which I found strange because it’s been all over the local news,” Aguilar said, adding that she was very upset to learn of Lash’s death.

When Lash first moved into the apartment 10 years ago, he introduced himself simply as ‘Bob,’ Aguilar said.

Aguilar said that Lash told neighbors ‘Bob’ was a cover name since he worked in the CIA and could not reveal his true identity.

“We added the ‘skinny’ onto his name when he started losing tons of weight due to his illness,” Aguilar added.

Aguilar described Lash as friendly but added that he primarily kept to himself. He also mentioned that every time he saw his tenant, Lash was always dressed in black. Lash seemed a bit paranoid, always darting his eyes left and right before walking into his apartment, Aguilar said.

Like many others who knew Lash, Aguilar heard stories about Lash’s time in the CIA.

“He told everyone that during his time in the CIA, he had been shot in the head and was in a coma for a very long time,” Aguilar recalled. “He said that after he came out of the coma, he was paid by the CIA and laid off but still needed to remain anonymous in the public’s eyes.”

It took over nine years for Aguilar to finally learn Skinny Bob’s real name.

“I remember one evening around six months ago, right when his health was getting really bad, he took off in one of his trucks and smashed into four cars parked on our street,” Aguilar explained. “He must’ve been on something, meds or alcohol, because when I called him on his cell phone minutes after the accident he wasn’t making any sense.”

Aguilar said neighbors who witnessed the accident were planning on calling the police and their insurance companies.

“Lash panicked and begged for no one to call the police. I demanded to see his ID,” Aguilar recalled.

Aguilar said Lash begrudgingly handed over his ID and after Aguilar took note that his name was Jeffrey Alan Lash, he handed it back.

“The next morning Lash came back and desperately didn’t want the insurance companies called so he took care of all of the damages without outside involvement,” Aguilar said. “I think he paid them all off in cash.”

Over the years Aguilar noticed that nearly every month Lash was driving a new vehicle, trucks specifically, of all different colors and they never had license plates.

“This story is definitely strange, especially when I heard about the guns, but for me the strangest thing of all is where did he get all of this money?” Aguilar asked.

Before Lash officially moved out four months ago and cleaned everything out of Jocelyn’s apartment, Aguilar said he left one truck in the garage and refused to move it.

“He was always driving these monster trucks and he tried leaving one on the property after he wasn’t a resident anymore. It was this big black Toyota with a tire in the back,” Aguilar described. “I told him he had to move it or I would tow it and he refused until I just about threatened him.”

Aguilar said that Lash moved the truck and started parking it full-time on Coastline Drive, moving it each week to a new location so he would not get a ticket.

Over the 10 years Lash was a resident, Aguilar said there was always one prominent blond woman at Lash’s side. Now, Aguilar suspects the woman was Catherine Nebron.

“A woman who was apparently his girlfriend or fiancée was always with him and especially these past four months when they would come over and move the car to a new spot, I always saw her with him. But we never spoke and I never actually met her,” Aguilar said.

Earlier this morning after watching the news and recognizing Lash as “Skinny Bob,” Aguilar called detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate the seemingly abandoned truck on Coastline Drive.

“It dawned on me this morning that the man from the Highlands in the Palisades was Skinny Bob and that he had finally passed away from cancer or whatever he had. I immediately called the detectives since his car was still sitting out on the street,” Aguilar said.

Detectives from LAPD were seen taking photos of the black Toyota and according to Aguilar were planning on towing it as soon as possible.

Despite Lash’s odd behavior, Aguilar said he too believed that Lash was in the CIA.

“The CIA story sounds really stupid but you just never know,” Aguilar said. “With all of his money and the mystery surrounding who he was, I have to admit I slightly believed him.”

thanks for that.....couple of things :

'hey neighbour - Bob - well not really Bob, but thats my cover name cos i work for the CIA.......'

'yeah back in 06 or 07 i was on this covert op, got shot in the head - was in a coma for like months, been pretty much laid up ever since...'on the bench' we call it - they still pay me, but
Its safer if no-one knows i used to be CIA..........'

and yet - who refuses to move their vehicle from a place where they no longer live? - and when they do, return there every week to move it up & down the street?......
moving the trudck to avoid a ticket, paying off 4(?) fenderbender victims (cash, presumably) to avoid insurance firms....& yet drives around without plates?

Yea this story is a mind blower, this HAS to be more than some dude living a delusional life and lying about being Agency connected. It is becoming very obvious he is involved in something.

What, is the question. What do you guys think so far, what is your best guess. I think maybe some type of Fast and Furious arms dealing to cartels might be a good guess and a good reason he needs to stay to himself since the cartels are very active and all over California, he would need to be very careful to maintain cover. But really, it could be anything. That money is coming from somewhere though and if he were doing illegal shit something would have come up already so whatever he was doing he had network support behind him.

This might be the all the time most crazy case about a person on RI ever. This is not just dealing with what he says or others say about him like many cases, HE HAS THE CASH CARS AND GUNS, we know that, he has them all and nobody knows why or how. Just fucking STRANGE.

So the no license plate thing extended beyond short trips to the restaurant in Palisades. What - there's a form of ID or code word which enables one to skate when stopped for no plates? Or his luck was phenomenal? Or he always included ten hundreds between the fingers when handing the officer his driver's license? And that always worked?

Bit of dissonance there with his statement that the public can't know of his CIA link and the promiscuous blabbing to the public about same. Plus, you know - actively affiliated with CIA = no mention ever of CIA.

As others have said here, it's the money. Not a case of a trust-funder's delusions supported by the wealth of previous generations. Also the scale of the money seems to argue against him being one of those rare silver-tongued dudes upon whom lonely women shower funding.

Curiouser and curiouser.
