What Jerk Diggler doesn't know is that I actually have him on ignore so I never had the pleasure of reading the psycho-rant posted above. Thanks.

I thought I'd give him a second chance and see if he actually had anything interesting to say about the subject at hand earlier. Well, he thought he did, even though he HADN'T ACTUALLY WATCHED THE SHOW.

And what is especially amusing is that he decided to similarity post an epic hysterical rant in my direction WITHOUT READING WHAT I HAD WRITTEN.

I guess the Super Geniuses of the world can do this. Actually watch a show before crucifying it? Sorry no, that is for the Untermensch.

the seizing and the holding on

Eventually, all houses made of cards fall in on themselves.

All that is left is a jumbled mess.

We've not yet finished season 3 yet but...

Is this ...

*** SPOILERS ***

Finally finished Season 3 yesterday. Compared to S1 and S2, pretty insipid fare, good moments too few and far between. Nothing to match the tension/rivalry between Tusk and Underwood or the conspiracy frisson with the reporters following up on Zoey's murder. I used to root for Doug Stamper, but by the end all I wanted to do was grab his stick and give him a good hiding with it (not because he becomes a murderer too -- ironic that his and Rachel's roles are reversed in the respective season finales; also, one of the few 'huh' moments in the entire season -- but because of his being, well, Doug Stamper). I also expected something meatier from Freddy the ex-rib joint owner this season, but nope. Putin caricature? Cringeworthy unless the MSM is your only source for what happens outside the USA's borders. Having said that, Petrov does stamp his mark in a couple of places (the White House dinner and the meeting in the Jordan Valley). I try to look back on how 13 episodes went by, and I really can't.

Oh well, Game of Thrones is back, hopefully it will not be such a disappointment too.

Yeah, Season 3 is a waste of time. I'm not even teased by Lady MacBeth leaving at season's end, I don't care any more, I don't care about Stamper, the whole thing is just derailed and compromised. And it dawned on me that there was a shitbag Dem neoliberal agenda wrecking things before I even caught up with the RI posts above.

Guess I'll just have to return to Mad Men and wait for the Manson gang to kill Meaghan and for Don's liver to explode while he's boinking Edie Sedgwick.

The more I think about it the more I hate Season 3. I mean, the first 2 seasons were so brilliant, perfect in so many ways, and on many levels (and especially by American standards) actually kinda subversive!

Season 3. It's like it was written by the CNN "news" team. I feel betrayed.

I am watching "Boardwalk Empire" now on Amazon and am thoroughly enjoying it. Now there's a show about Capitalism at it finest!

Interesting to read the criticism of Season 3. Although we were quite enthusiastic about S1, we quit watching S2 halfway through because it did not seem believable to us. Keeping in mind that my other half is not particularly inclined to parapolitical thinking, this says something. I guess S3 was even worse.

Okay. Has anyone watched Season 4 yet? I just did and .... I want to talk about it.

Season 3 might as well be erased from the hard drives. Season 4 is a worthy sequel to seasons 1 - 2.

I just finished watching it like 2 minutes ago and came straight here. I was pretty surprised.

-I don't like hoodlums.
-That's just a word, Marlowe. We have that kind of world. Two wars gave it to us and we are going to keep it.

I did. And I hated season 3 and gave up on it. I only started season 4 because my wife had watched it and really wanted to talk about it, and I was kind of bored and tried the first couple of episodes. Boom.

You can look at it like a movie, structurally. It basically has a 3 act structure. It slows down a tiny bit in act 2, which is where a lot of movies have the same issue, but then it races to the end in a harrowing way. Then it ends with a fucking hammer. I was pretty amazed. And Spacey gets some scenes that any actor would kill for. Ellen Burstyn is in it, too, as Claire's mother, and she's perfect as always.

I wish I could watch this but I can't stream videos. I'll have to save it on Netflix's ridiculously long waiting list when it becomes available on dvd--probably when Season 5 is airing.

(A friend highly recommended the new season and said that Joel Kinnaman plays a big role; covered up/ignored behaviors of past president(s) are normalized and that audience response benefits Hillary. )
