Pols boycott a party convention?

"Mitt Romney, Sen. John McCain, and George W. Bush are among the GOP heavyweights who are at odds with presumptive republican nominee Donald Trump."

They're drawn to a convention like kids to a circus--but maybe it's prophetic that Ringling Bros. retired all of their elephants this week.

Alert, alert, Cheney has endorsed Trump.

Don't know if he's out of the game as an old fucker now but these guys don't usually die until they're dead, if that. (See: Kissinger.) This could mean the currently nameless mob (the one going back to the Safari Club days -- post-Bush Mob? Zombie CIA?) will horn in as the contractor for the boring operations side of the Trump TV Show, assuming it can go in. If they're in, they will own the fucker easily, they'll know whatever needs to be known. Daughter Cheney being floated as a totally plausible VP pick, that would be the obvious signal.

Trump is going to lose in an absolutely epic way, by the way. It doesn't matter how bad Clinton will be, she or a County Fair Potato would do as well. Please Lord, give us a miracle Bernie Resurrection!

I wish I could be as sure about that. I'm a social democrat (I guess) and I despise HRC. Despise. The right loathes HRC with a seething passion. They may well come out in droves and vote for Trump anyway as a vote against HRC. The democratic primary has already been so marred with establishment shenanigans that a good chunk of the independents and millenial democrats that are voting for Bernie will stay home if the democratic establishment even appears to rig the game at the convention. From the polling I've seen it looks like HRC would beat Trump, but who the fuck knows this year?

Interesting to consider how Trump would operate as an owned tool. He fits the bill in the IQ dept. Their normal puppets are nitwits. Reagan/dubya. Not so much Bush I. But I'm not sure Trump has ever had anyone tell him what to do. How much do you let him know? How could you ever trust him on live television?

Trump has had people tell him what to do, lmao.

I'm getting awfully bored of rhetoric that suggests he will be an American Putin, as if that is somehow some sort of dream fantasy scenario anyways (it isn't)

Americans of all stripes/creeds/constellations should be configuring themselves against the Trump and Clinton bandwagons to build momentum to last through either inevitable victory

I suppose he has in a sense. I doubt he's ever had an original thought in his life. But I think his public persona of billionaire megalomaniacal narcissist is not an act. I doubt you stay in Trump's orbit for long if you disagree with him too vehemently. I suppose it depends on how owned he is and by whom. He's probably not quite as dumb as he comes off and maybe he realizes/would come to realize that there are other cabals much more powerful and if he doesn't want to be laid low then he'll have to toe some sort of line.

I think for the 10-15% of the american populace voting for him an American dictator is definitely a wet dream. Probably another 10-15% dream about it, but would never say it out loud. Hell, I dream about, but my dream is of a benevolent philosopher king. I want Bernie to declare a state of environmental emergency and then do whatever the fuck needs to be done to head off/prepare for the worst.

Yes a dictator is not ideal. I meant people have a fantasy of Trump setting things straight economically and morally etc. That is totally delusional

I think Trump's connections to some deeply sketchy cabals are well documented as are HRC's

Aye, and I suspect Trump fans who harbor fantasies of Trump nailing Clinton with opposition research are deluding themselves, too.

That's a pretty neat mutually assured destruction loop for them both; wired as they are through the NYC organized crime nexus.

I get immense joy from liberals and conservatives alike rocking back and forth, whispering lullabyes to themselves about how The Establishment Won't Work With Trump. Exactly what the fuck do they think Trump has been doing with his life? Achieving moral victories?

Anyways, this first round of HRC anti-Trump messaging is the first time I've wondered if Trump might actually win. It's just so tonedeaf, so own-goal stupid, I was beside myself. I don't think re-capping all the wacky antics that made America fall in love with Trump is very effective -- at least not anywhere outside the Daily Show Bubble of true believers.

"oooh, that was a brutal takedown! devastating!" -- Yeah, and it'll be every bit as effective as Jon Stewart's monologues were against Goldman Fucking Sachs. Americans merely crave the endorphin rush of feeling right, I don't think they even remember anything more meaningful than that.

if Trump were elected he would be immediately impeached along with who ever he picked as his running mate (unless Paul Ryan picked his running mate) making Paul Ryan president :P

there are 2 fraud cases pending against Trump...can a convicted felon be president?

he may not make it to the swearing in ceremony

if he picks Chris Chirstie as his running mate...maybe Christie will become president and pardon Trump and then he will be impeached when he is convicted in the Bridgegate scandal :P
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

@WRex There is literally a bubble right? In North America seems very common for e.g. families to stop talking to each other along these political faultlines

@slad Would be great vicarious thrill to see what dirt Trump or HRC would let loose if either were taken down w criminal charges

The whole slowly simmering Epstein, 9/11, etc. stuff

Will it remain as shadowy as JFK forever?

It will no longer be Christie, I think.

Trump may make it in under the protection of Cheney, assuming Cheney can still pull shit off like that. Not that it's going to happen, but if it does, he can play Reality President while the old crew takes care of the business of imploding the world. And if Trump fucks up then, an impeachment seems to me less likely than just being found one morning in a puked-up bed scattered with empty bottles and loose pills. One indicator of whether Trump understands the danger he is in if he miraculously wins would be whether he actually moves into the newly-christened Trump House or his own Trump Bunker ("Undisclosed Location") with private security. But the fact is the fake billionaire can't actually afford the security he would need if any one of several deep state factions decide enough is enough on the damage to Brand America.

That's a good point, Jack. I hadn't thought of that but all of his "properties" will be a giant bullseye for sure. Protests, terrorism, whatever. He's live on TV right now here in WA state and all he is doing is talking about himself. There are a lot of protesters they are covering that part now. We shall see what happens once the rally lets out. Hopefully something, hopefully nothing. I just want trump to basically go away. Go enjoy your taco bowls made by the Hispanics somewhere else!

Chris Christie is a cuck, a beta, a loser -- he was standing behind Trump for the past couple months as a humiliation ritual, and indeed, a testament to The Donald's juice with the very NYC/NJ "establishment" I was ranting about earlier. Christie wasn't hunching ruefully stage left because Trump asked him to, he was there because his personal Deep State told him to do that. Or face the consequences.

That was basically the same messaging as leaving a severed horse head in someone's bedroom. That horse really has no future in your operation past that particular morning.

The relentlessly self-aggrandizing & acutely image-conscious language patterns of Trump make it clear he won't pick a low-testosterone VP. To me. I'll be real surprised if some slim wonk or tubby insider gets the nod; my working assumption is that a Trump VP pick will be a veteran since he himself is...well, Very Much Not a Veteran.

I doubt he fears anyone can upstage him, and if we know him like we think we do, it's going to be someone who meets the vital criteria of insanity and showmanship.

I'm having a real hard time imagining anyone being Trump's running mate.

Really, I cannot imagine anyone!
