I never saw Michael Brooks on TV. (About the only thing I see on TV are the Chinese, Russian and French news networks, and episodes of Perry Mason from 56-64.) Only discovered his show in the last year, on YT. He was easily among the smartest of the new left-ish wave and, strangely, a soulful, substantive, funny fellow. I check if he has any new shows daily. So this is upsetting. But did THEY get him? His work was as a commentator. It was incisive. Unlike some who need not be named, he clearly had studied tons of general reading, thoroughly researched subjects, and respected the expertise of well-chosen guests. But he was not a story-breaker. (Insert all caveats about what one doesn't know here.) As I am superstitious, and despise the "stay out of small planes" talk, I don't want to mention certain examples of people I expect reasonably fear for their lives because of their investigative work, or their polemics against dangerous targets. I'd not have thought Brooks was among them. It's only relatively rare that people die from embolisms or clots at young ages. I've known more than one. So sad to be cut off suddenly, one moment to the next. Maybe there was an underlying condition I didn't know.
