i'm amazed at the incredible mind bending power of democracy. for twenty odd years since 911 enough people began to wonder, are they putting us on? such that a preponderance of obviousness would eventually cause a dislocation. people dis-engaging from the system in order to put an end to the malfeasance. and this controversy has been strident for two decades. and then they flipped the script. in an instant, just like that, the sheep are back in the voting fold safe and sound. bill hicks, errr alex jones, yucker carlson, any former skeptic you care to name, they're mainstream believers now! incredible. what a fool i was to think mobs can come to their senses. it's impossible. i used to be ambivalent and a little entertained by herr drumpf. but after that ear bandage publicity stunt i realize i'm in danger of his brown-shirts! they could turn on me and maul me for calling bs on him. and i'm the same color as them! dangerous times indeed. but keep your eye on the weather vane of that t-bond market. that's the only countdown you can rely on. then every man for himself.

The Secret Service's acting director told lawmakers on Tuesday that he considered it indefensible that the roof used by the gunman in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump was unsecured, faulting local law enforcement for not circulating urgent information ahead of the shooting and for not adequately protecting the scene.

He also testified that he recently visited the shooting site and said, “What I saw made me ashamed." He said that the shooting amounted to a “failure on multiple levels," including a failure of imagination.

It really seems like Keystone Kops more than being able to sketch out a conspiracy but it is also hard to get a handle on everything that was happening. This new bodycam is wild - cop get boosted onto the roof, sees crooks, wimps out and drops down followed by Crooks shooting/being shot - apparently without the sound. There is vid of the cop running around in the field, so I guess the timing could be figured out.

Why didn't the cop shoot into the air to warn/put Crooks off?

I thought they said the cop that was lifted up and then had the gun turned on him and they said both cops went to the ground and radios that in and one had hurt ankles....that's clearly not the truth

Not even sure what this one is about...

So the story that the blood in the AGR bldg bathroom being from the officers hands that climbed on the roof is false. Where did that blood come from?

Also, first time hearing about this:

...we now also know the precise locations of the three plainclothes officers right before the shooting began, who we affectionately know as “capri pants guy,” “camo shorts guy,” and “ZZ Top.” They were all right there where they would have been in a position to spot Crooks on the roof or getting on the roof. Again, this raises many questions.

Friday night, so maybe I will check out this video and some other stuff to see if I can get a handle on all of this while imbibing a few glasses of wine. I don't live in the US, don't regularly check mainstream outlets but I imagine they have moved on, especially with the new Kamala Brat Summer/Walz is my Good Daddy hype and Trump seemingly not really sparking much interest after the assassination attempt/RNC.

The DHS use probably is just one of those funky coincidences that's bound to happen but Crooks' dedication to practicing is interesting.

Attempted Trump assassin Thomas Crooks practiced shooting at his preferred gun range the day before the Department of Homeland Security conducted a training there — just two months before he opened fire at the former president’s rally.

Crooks, 20, visited the Clairton Sportsmen’s Club in Pennsylvania on May 22 around 3:10 p.m., where he practiced alone at the rifle range, according to a club logbook obtained by Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) office.

The very next day, beginning at noon, DHS conducted a “police training” at the range with at least three people, club records show.

Clairton’s rifle range where Crooks would have practiced is 200 yards long — more than enough space for him to practice the 150-yard shot he would take at Trump on July 13, wounding the former president and killing a bystander.

It is unclear whether DHS regularly held trainings there, or if the May 23 visit was an uncommon occurrence.

During his membership, Crooks averaged between three and six visits per month, never once brought a guest with him, and visited on Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day.

His final visit was on July 12 at 2:45 p.m. — the day before he unloaded on Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, with an AR-15 rifle. Crooks was shot dead by Secret Service snipers.

“The crime scene was released to the property owners in phases as we completed our work at the AGR building, its surroundings, and at the Butler Farm Show grounds. Nothing was rushed and everything was documented as part of the investigation,” the statement added. “The FBI arranged for the cleaning of the location where the perpetrator died, which is in keeping with normal procedures. The shooter’s body was released to his family after coordination with the coroner’s office and our state and local law enforcement partners. This is also in keeping with normal procedures.”

Don't worry, the FBI is handling it, it's all documented but national security and all that so no detailed information can be given. When heavily redacted evidence of the shitshow comes out via FOIA 25 years from now, well, gosh, that was then...
