But perhaps the most revealing moment in Suskind's book is a brief vignette that captures the quintessence of Bush's callous disregard for the American people -- and the regime's strange, preternatural calm in the face of imminent attack. In August 2001, while Bush dawdled on his Texas dude ranch, the entire national security system was, in Tenet's words, "blinking red" in expectation of a major terrorist strike. On Aug. 6, a CIA official brought the infamous "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S." memo to Crawford and read it out personally to the president. In response, he got nothing but a snide dismissal: "All right, you've covered your ass now."

That was it. Bush had nothing else to say about this stark threat of impending slaughter. He had no questions, no advice, no commands -- just smirking contempt. Even if we give Bush every benefit of the doubt, even if we put the most charitable construction possible on his behavior, the very best you could say of his reaction is that it represents a blood-curdling degree of depraved indifference and criminal negligence worthy of Nero.

Beyond this "best-case" scenario, you tumble into an abyss of ever-darker implications, a deep murk that may never be dispelled. But what we know, what is plain as day, is bad enough: Tyranny has come -- aggressive, remorseless, murderous, mad.

rense.com/general72/insan.htm

And yet the DU-types will hail the latest SCOTUS decision...

Postby yesferatu » Sun Jul 02, 2006 2:04 am

and will "rejoice". What the fuck for?
"Tyranny has come -- aggressive, remorseless, murderous, mad."
Here is what Bush knows - in this he understands darkly what Gore sagely understood : there is no intermediary between the Supreme Court and violent revolution. And Bush understands that. He knows that gap will not be bridged in the pacified ameriKa. Meaning he understands his next step is to ignore or circumvent anyone or anything that would not make him the Decider.
Liberals who hail this SC decision remind me of the giddy, foolish "Fitzmas" crap they sung to themselves.

Fuckin face it already.

You get had with optimism, especially an optimism born of a need to filter news with the deadened prism of "normal" politics, and their scrying tool is a black hunk of dead coal. Scrying requires a polished medium, certainly a refined visual aid for where we are. But they scry with darkened, unpolished, dead
refuse, so they are in denial that we are, at this moment, DEEP in a parapolitical quagmire, and anything goes.
9/11? Anything goes. Florida? Anything goes. Ohio? Anything goes. Wellstone? Anything goes. Diebold? and on and on it (anything) goes.

We know, in a scryed sense, where this is going. "Tyranny has come -- aggressive, remorseless, murderous, mad."

Edited by: yesferatu at: 7/2/06 12:10 pm

anything seems to go! the question is when will anything STOP? It is building, and has been building since the SC decision in '00, and building and falling down, '01, and building and building and building and building and is it going to explode like some think? sometimes i think it should but it is really going to be messy.....got cheese?
