Rove adopted

Post by rapt »

Yes I thought I had read that a couple of years ago, but with few details. I'm interested to know his true parentage; suspect one of them was a scaly being with tail. That would explain a lot.

Ono,
Yes that’s extremely interesting and requires some contemplation.
One thing does strike me. This quote

Quote:
Ambassador Joseph Wilson has been turning up the heat in this situation. He revealed on Friday August 29 in a symposium in Washington the person in the Bush administration, who had leaked it out to the Washington Post that Wilson¥s wife is a CIA agent of 26 years. As a consequence of this leak, her entire team of overseas assets were liquidated.

29 August

Quote:
The inadvertent disclosure of the name of a business affiliated with the CIA underscores the potential damage to the agency and its operatives caused by the leak of Plame's identity. Intelligence officials have said that once Plame's job as an undercover operative was revealed, other agency secrets could be unraveled and her sources might be compromised or endangered.
A former diplomat who spoke on condition of anonymity said yesterday that every foreign intelligence service would run Plame's name through its databases within hours of its publication to determine if she had visited their country and to reconstruct her activities.
"That's why the agency is so sensitive about just publishing her name," the former diplomat said.

3 October

I presume the "26 years" as an agent is a typo.
What strikes me is his specificity in August and his vagueness in October.
And there are several hugely sinister possibilities, for we only have Joe Wilson's word.
Could you post the link?

Added on edit

Just one point which abstracts from the Wilson angle. So far as I can see that Pincus/Allen article fulfills ALL the requirements of the Morison precedent. Everything "confirmed" by those two "Bush administration officials" was classified information of much more gravity than the photographs provided to Jane's Defence. The brewster-Jennings name was new information found nowhere else in the public domain. And two people conspired.

If Morison is caught by the Espionage Act, then so too are these two "Bush administration officials" for sure.

Edited by: antiaristo at: 10/26/05 7:57 pm

chigger, heard on CNN today that Plame was 22 when she started with the agency, and she is 42 now. The above has to be a typo.

To me, the question is: What kind of 22 year old would want to be involved in spying?

lotsa spider webs

"Did Tenet Resign Because of Leak Scandal?
Vice President Cheney’s claim in Tuesday’s New York Times that he learned of Valerie Plame’s status from former CIA Director George Tenet, draws our attention back to an odd confluence of events in the first week of June 2004.

Within the span of four days in June, Tenet met with President Bush to submit his resignation, the White House announced that President Bush had consulted an outside attorney to represent him in the Fitzgerald investigation, and it was reported that Vice President Cheney had been interviewed by Fitzgerald. In that order.

June 2, 2004: Bush speaks at Air Force Academy; Tenet meets him upon arrival at White House to tell him that he was going to resign.

June 2, 2004: McClellan tells press the night of June 2 that Bush hired an attorney.

June 3, 2004: In press gaggle, McClellan notes that Tenet called Card the afternoon of the 2nd to ask for meeting with Bush. Tenet and Bush meet for 45 minutes.

June 5, 2004: New York Times reports that Cheney was interviewed by Fitzgerald.

Press coverage of Tenet’s resignation noted that the timing seemed odd. Senator Dianne Feinstein, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, commented “I can’t remember any resignation that has struck me as more startling than this one,” she said. “I suspect there is going to be more of a story to tell than just personal reasons.”

What could account for this confluence of events? Had Tenet found himself in the uncomfortable position of having to tell Fitzgerald some damaging information about the Vice President and thought he needed to leave the Administration because of it? Did Tenet deliver some bad news to Bush the evening he met with him that would prompt the White House to feel the need to announce that the President had sought outside legal counsel? It’s speculation, but there is no denying that the timing is curious.

– Jennifer Palmieri "

thinkprogress.org/
