I'm no one to talk, of course..This is the kinda shit I end up spending a few extra bucks in my pocket on:

There's a Masonic Cross hand-carved into the base of the razor, so this is peripherally RI-worthy for more than simple posturing on my part, although I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a given circumstance like what happened to my buddy today who got almost got mugged in a convenient store parking lot in broad daylight. He had two of his front teeth knocked out by this asshole.

If it had been me, I'd have whipped this beauty out and calmly walked off with half the dude's face in my pocket.

Et, although you do not apologize for jack, which I respect, that Travis Bickle response was a slap-down that I don't see how anything written by Barracuda merited.

Just saying. And I guess that phrase is probably destined for the dustbin, too, if it's not already there.

I hate the dustbin, btw. If it were enforceable, it would be an unconstitutional prior restraint on one of my very favorite First Amendment rights.

It wasn't a slapdown, it was a joke, hence the smiley at the bottom of the pic.

Rants are encouraged, at least by me, because I'm frustrated enough to be able to appreciate them when I see em from others. Barracuda ranted and that was my equivalent of a cheer.

Barracuda ain't got no problems from me.

I'd far prefer not to be disliked whenever possible, naturally.

Naturally and I don’t think there is a whole lot of difference between the terms prefer and want.

But if it's a question of what I want to believe, I'm much more alarmed by the prospect of being liked than I am of being disliked. And therefore much more reluctant to believe it.

Rearranging this and assuming you do not prefer or want to be alarmed, I arrive at: I want to believe I am disliked if my other option is being liked, which to my mind does not make sense if you “prefer not to be disliked whenever possible”.

So I say: speak for yourself, honey. I'll still like you, I promise.

And that is reassuring as you seemingly meant it to be and not alarming in the least.

Perhaps it’s best to say that you prefer to be neither liked nor disliked? And yet, you spend an inordinate, to my mind, amount of verbiage on this board carefully equivocating so as not to tick anyone off and mending fences at the slightest sign that someone has taken offense. (Though I will note you have taken on a more combative stance lately). The discrepancy between that observation (which it should go without saying is my own) and what you are saying here is hard for me to reconcile, none of which is very important at all in the grand scheme of things.

So I say, I’ll still like you with no intent of alarming you no matter how many rhetorical pretzels you twist yourself into.

I'll run interference for you and say, let's hope no one pulls out the tired old chestnut that it is better to regret what you have done than what you haven't done. Clever though that may sound and despite the fact that it holds more than a bit of wisdom, nonetheless, if most of us are being honest then we would have to face the fact that most of our regrets are for what we have not done. This does not contradict the notion that it is better to regret what one has done than what one has not done, but it does place that idea in perspective.

Besides, it's the particulars that count. No doubt there are lot's of things Cheney regrets not having done and generally speaking we can all probably give thanks that he has such regrets. On the flip side, I hope he burns in hell for the things he has done and yet has no regrets about whatsoever.

You might have put that puzzle together wrong, barracuda. I'm not Catholic, though I was brought up that way. Stopped going to Mass at the age of 15 and haven't been back since. I oppose the Catholic church in too many ways to list. And I have been co-responsible for at least one abortion.

No, MacCruiskeen, no. You see, the image was representative of the tentative re-assembly (with the help of Lightning Hopkins, thx) of my pony persona following the trama of a momentary psychotic schism brought on by factors seemingly beyond my conscious control. And besides, I am a cat lick. Sorry about the mis-understanding. I thought many of your points in that thread were very well taken, btw. Thanks for suffering my sometimes insufferable nature.
