I'm not familiar with all the ins and outs of the JFK assassination either, but that "Babushka footage" linked earlier seemed off to me, as if it were cropped. The aspect ratio of the frame seemed wider than cameras at that time, and the motion had that 'zoomed in' in post production look (something I'm pretty familiar with).

Sure enough, it's a blow-up of the Orville Nix footage. Youtube doesn't exactly give you the best in frame accuracy, but here's a 5 minute Photoshop job I did.

Don't get me started on some of the absolutely HORRIBLE analysis of the moon photos, supposedly done by experts that don't understand simple light properties.

Not to mention the thousands of still photos, of which the Altgens 1-6 photo (corresponding to around Z-252) is really like a one -frame movie, and may contain an image of Oswald in the doorway above JFK, as well as numerous other clues, like the open door of the LBJ's secret service follow up Mercury four door.

Funny, Alan, I'd just reached that same conclusion about a half an hour ago, before I saw your post. I was intrigued by who I'm calling the "startle woman", who appears to startle away from the shot, which, if true, came from the frontish, other-side-ish area of the car. So I was looking to see if I could see her in other footage, and since you can only see her in the Nix and "Babushka" films, I got suspicious. Then after seeing a YouTube clip with the Nix, "Babushka", and Zapruder films synched up and running at the same time, it was obvious.

I also find it odd that I can't find "startle woman" in the other films, but I may not have sharp enough eyes. I was thinking it might actually *be* Babushka. Damn, that's the tough thing about being a dilettante -- I get interested in stuff and do a little research, but then never really know enough about it.

As for existence of films aside from Zapruder's, I only just found out about them a couple of weeks ago, or whenever it was that someone posted them on another JFK thread here recently. I was amazed, too, that I didn't know about them. They're definitely "off the beaten track" -- and you have to wonder what part Time magazine played in driving those films there. Of course, the Zapruder film is the clearest, but the others are valuable, too.

I first saw the Nix film on Phil Donahue back in the eighties. His daughter had just retrieved it from the gov't, which had refused until then to give it back. The most notable thing about the footage is the obvious plume of smoke that can be seen above the fence on the Grassy Knoll at the time of the kill shot.
