No one misses 8bit's posts? I mean, jeez, I really wanted to blue-line the hell out of his posts ("ect.", "Saint Lewis") but goddamn he had an exhaustive degree of knowledge. Internet stalking reveals he's working on some graphic and sound projects though so he ain't dead

geogeo posted yesterday but he said he was "in a rough patch, getting rougher" so who knows.

I'll drink to that. I wanna know if Jack ever got an answer from askbobmarley about who shot the deputy and I want him to acknowledge that I am indeed the winner of the edit war thread. And wasn't there a thread recently about internet censorship in Australia? I don't think Joe said anything on it and I count on him for all things Australian. Besides I want Joe to write some more about his encounters with interdimensional/extraterrestrial creatures and such.

Eh! Life is a river. I didn't know I'd be posting again until I did. There's a real sense of freedom to lurking occasionally without feeling the urge to post, but for some reason I can't seem to stay away for too long.

I hope Hugh will not be so offended by his temporary banning that he will stay away forever. He's one of the good guys (very, very smart, too, and with a dogged persistence that is truly awe-inspiring), and I can't believe Jeff banned him, even for a week.

I'll raise a toast to HMW too, It's hard for me to imagine the RI forum without him, actually. That said, he was really being insulting to Jeff on many threads lately, and there's no excuse for disparaging our host in a completely off-topic manner, just being... petualant and annoying. I think Jeff put up with a lot from HMW and I'm sure he didn't temporary-ban him without weighing the idea carefully.

Let's hope HMW doesn't give up on RI and comes back with a cooler head.

I'll second everything you've said. I've actually missed Hugh's input on the pandemic and his attempts to index its shadow in all forms of pop culture.

To Vigilant, wherever he may be lurking or posting, for his excellent no-nonsense contributions to JR's "End of Wall-Street" thread, which I could actually sort of follow and get a grasp on all that financial sorcery. Also for the scores of great posts he's made over the years.

Not posting, or toasting any posting, about Steves or Jews or nonesuch. Feh.

I don't exactly understand exactly why he was banned, but it's not my place to really say, and that's okay. Maybe he was kinda a dick, it seems teh bigga yer postcount gets, the more likely you are to start swinging yer ... eh.

Drink up and be merry, for tomorrow we shall be banned!

EDIT (I'm not a post whore, really, hence why I'm editing instead of making a new post).

I wonder what zhivkov has gotten into. I always enjoyed reading his rambling, rambunctious prose postings. While not a RI heavy-hitter, he added a lot of color and humor to the board.
