hmm.. you think this is about gun control? I'd be surprised if whoever is running it gives a rat's ass about the 2nd amendment. This looks much bigger than a bogus wedge issue. Drugs, nukes, somebody accidentally sniffing out a major intel crime, who knows, but it's serious. I don't think they'd whack five cops over small change.

Nine years ago, then-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee granted clemency to Clemmons, commuting his lengthy prison sentence over the protests of prosecutors.
"This is the day I've been dreading for a long time," Larry Jegley, prosecuting attorney for Arkansas' Pulaski County said tonight when informed that Clemmons was being sought for questioning in connection with the killings.
Clemmons' criminal history includes at least five felony convictions in Arkansas and at least eight felony charges in Washington. The record also stands out for the number of times he has been released from custody despite questions about the danger he posed.

This guy, all within 18 hours has already been tried and convicted in the media (see:googly eyed). He was an easy patsy. Clear and obvious chaff was jettisoned in and of the phony 911 calls played out on live local TV.

There is much, much more to this. At least, in and of our society at large.

What with the white accomplice that was reported at first too? Where are those queries? I don't see them. Open and shut waxing of cops by Clemmons. That's the story.

Not buying it. . .

I was not happy with my friend who thought this was "awesome"...I was like "dude, just because youve been pulled over recently for running a stoplight, doesnt mean all cops are bad"

I get a very good vibe from the four cops who were killed...these look like really good hearted cops. People who say "cops are scum", should try and imagine cities with NO authority, no cops...and try and tell me they'd love to live in that world.

This event makes me sad, just like the BART oakland cop who executed an innocent man point blank. Just like many recent tragedies.

What strikes me is that there was ANOTHER black guy accused of being a child rapist who murdered a bunch of cops. I believe it was in Oakland last year, a child rapist shot and killed 3 cops(if memory serves correctly)

There's a LOT of cops(and soldiers) on our side, and events like this do nothing but serve the powers that be. When John Mohamed allegedly killed that FBI agent, when that white supremist in Pittsburgh killed 3 cops...it's all bad news.

Btw...the last time I recall an assassination/execution in a coffee shop, was when this black fellon was accused of murdering a Clinton secretary in a Washington DC area Star Bucks in 1997...apparently, right after she told friends she was going to expose Clinton's sexual appetites.

Seriously. Then there's the question of why family-values guy Huckabee would let a convicted child rapist out in the first place. I agree. Just like I wonder how does a young kid kill 32 people at a college campus...or how a guy at Fort Hood can kill 13 and shoot 30 others without even being killed himself.

Lucky. The guy was about $100 when he played Oakland a couple years back, so I never got to see him. Or any number of bands Ive loved since the late 80's.

Wonder if it's just coincidence that the shootings happened on the tenth anniversary of the WTO 'Battle In Seattle' (November 29--December 3, 1999). (I remember a lot media coverage about how the police were 'unprepared'.)

I forgot about the WTO annv.

I just read this guy had been "recently" allowed to leave jail for punching a cop in the face, raping a kid, and forcing a family to strip naked at gunpoint.

Anyone remember larry singleton? The guy raped then hacked off the arms of his victim, and left her for dead in a ditch(before someone at the last minute rescued her)

For some reason the state was really adamant about giving him a second chance after only 8 years, despite ALL the evidence he was even more psychotic...they quietly released him in a Florida suburb where he ended up not only killing a prostitute, but a whole family.

It's...almost like that powers that be *intentionally* let loose killers to keep the public in a state of fear.

I think you've got a very good point about keeping the public in fear. Fear keeps people complacent and dependant.

(As an aside, several years ago I read a magazine article--probably 'People'--about the teenager who survived Larry Singleton's attack. She's a remarkable woman. She became an artist and the article featured pictures of her work, incredible drawings of warrior women.
