That article on Thatcher is an amazing read. I found myself comparing his experience as a child of Thatcher to my own as a child of Pierre Trudeau. Complete opposites. He describes Thatcher as the stern mother, always taking stuff away from people for no discernible reason. Trudeau was the free spirited father, wilfully shocking voluntary outcast, the spoiled brat with a conscience, the pro-union scion of an industrial establishment family, come down, in the words of the great poet Gerald Bostock, from the upper classes to mend our rotten ways, flipping Nixon the bird, driving his kids through the country in a red convertible, and laughing off his wife's rebellious nights at Studio 54. While Thatcher was smashing society, Trudeau was building multiculturalism and teaching us the importance of his effortless bilingualism. In the US, Reagan, more typically for an American, was selling the vision of the City on the Hill. The vision was an illusion, the city unatainable by any road open to you and I. But they believed in it, the Americans, and they still do, armed with the faith of those who need no evidence but that of revelation. And where are we, thirty years on from the three of them? All in the same sad place. Obama, Cameron, Harper; NSA, GCHQ, CSEC; Debt, debt, debt.

Tried to watch this a few times now, can't do it. Grates at my soul. I can't tell if it's him or them but suspect it's both. A lot of that has to do with how much I currently look like him, so that's alarming...

...hell...that is pretty damn freaky.....the guy's ripping-off your image...

Having digested the contents of this thread so far, would anybody interested deny that this is a man who knows exactly whats he's saying, namely speaking truth to power, in any manner of both direct and subtle forms?

I wouldn't also be all that surprised if he's fully aware of what the possible mortal consequences could be, of his ongoing exposure of how the game is played by our controllers.

Thats something to aspire to, if you ask me.

I couldn't watch that first clip either. The sheer stupidity emanating from those three talking heads made my head hurt. I guess that's what happens when they miscalculate and invite someone with a measurable IQ. The contrast is suddenly very obvious.

We could actually start a whole new thread here regarding the Synchronicity of RB being interviewed by the daughter of someone who by his prior record is clearly in need of retirement, or at the very best occasional consultancy.

Or you might just throw it off as random chance, at a time when I suspect that most of the contollers are begginning to even understand themselves that enough is enough.

That's because you have a vocabulary of more than a couple hundred words.

He uses a lotta big words most Americans simply don't understand. And he uses a great many of them in quick succession.

I have to say, while he used to bug me, from his acting, seeing his actual self here is pretty great. The guy is undeniably manic, and I'm sure that's what led to whatever drug problem he may have had in the past. But wow, what a great mania. The guy is just a joy to listen to.

He was performing with Sarah Silverman in her monthly performances at Largo here in LA. I almost went one night, then had to bail. I wasn't interested in seeing him, but now I'm really wishing I had! And at the time, I was wondering what Sarah saw in the guy. But now I know.
