Yeah quite. As with that, my main objection to the speculation is the fact that if the Rothschilds want to 'send Francois Hollande a message' then this is not how they would go about it. Not to mention the fact that minority interests don't generally get to dictate anything in a company, so it is unclear why they would be calling the shots on the cover.

But this is a very weird cover! And very unlike all the previous ones: it's always a black cover with some TV screens. Will pop out and get it and see whether anything inside has to do with some of the weirder stuff. Especially Alice, that's freaky. The 11.3 and 11.5 are a bit chilling, too.

The woman staring at Holland btw is a model from an Alexander McQueen show last June which made a splash among people who follow that sort of thing.

Re Merkel's hands - that is a tic she has, she always stands like that. I think she's extremely uncomfortable with public attention.

It could be that it's just an artist's idea that won a pitch session and the Economist honchos simply thought, "it's cool and hip-looking and will get people talking."

Agreed. It seems to me that messages encoded into a magazine would more likely be meant for mainstream public influence - social engineering, perception management, etc.

What your comment reminds me of is the Denver Airport murals. When the artist was questioned about the bizarre content of his paintings, he allegedly replied that he was given specifications of exactly what to paint.

Well I don't think that the idea is that the Rotschilds would be literally sending Hollende a message through the cover of a magazine. The whole cover is an insider's joke. It's a way of them telling us that the Rotschilds are giving Hollende "the stare". And those who already know will get a good chuckle from the way it's portrayed here. Like a political cartoon for insiders.

I am reminded of the Popular Mechanics article "debunking" 9/11 theories.

They mention several illustrations not mentioned by the vigilant citizen article. And then they totally fail to address other aspects definitely covered by the article.

I almost half-assumed I'd know the artist since it's happened twice that Rigorous Intuition investigated an anti-fascist satirical artist who likes to "illuminate" elite symbology in order to expose, humiliate, degrade and debase. Alas, this is terrible from an aesthetic standpoint.
