Last of the four pages about Jimmy Page and the rock scene, and another photo illustration page:
There's more about Page in the book, less related to this thread, but I'm more inclined to read the whole book now.

Good stuff, thanks Elvis.
The description of Crowley in magical garb "aged thirty-five" is visibly wrong. I think, and by the look of him, he was still a teenager.
Is the book referenced? Wondering about those images on the Abbey walls. They must surely have been photographed, but where they ever published, I wonder?
It all paints a pretty bleak picture.

That photo of Crowley in magical garb was taken in 1910, age 35 according to the OTO and several biographers. The magical garb is definitely post Golden Dawn but Crowley is still fresh faced and in good health, an active world class mountaineer. Crowley was not active in magic as a teenager.
1875 Crowley born
1898 Joins Golden Dawn and begins magical career age 23.
1899 Mathers attempts to put Crowley in charge of London Golden Dawn Lodge and ultimately loses in court.
1899 Crowley purchases Boleskine as a site to perform the Sacred Magic of Abramelin in order to contact his Holy Guardian Angel but does not complete the ritual.
1900-1903 Crowley goes to Mexico, India, Ceylon, United States, and France continuing study of ceremonial magic.
1903 Crowley marries Rose Kelley who bears a child, Lilith in 1905.
1904 Crowley receives book of Law in Cairo while on honeymoon.
1905-1906 Crowley is in India, Nepal, and China. Crowley's attempt to climb K-2 goes bad leading to the death of one of his climbing partners and several porters and Crowley may be to blame. Then Crowley is forced to leave India after killing a man who allegedly tried to mug him and Crowley avoids being questioned by authorities. Rose comes with Lilith to travel overland to China and then heads back to England alone and Lilith dies in route.
1907-1911 Crowley formulates Thelema based upon the Book of the Law and A::A with George Cecil Jones and finishes Abramelin. Rose bears a 2nd daughter with Crowley but the marriage fails. Crowley continues to travel, conducts major workings, and has his most productive period of writing.
1912 Crowley joins OTO and rewrites OTO ritual to reflect Thelema. By 1914 Crowley has lost his fortune and this is to impact his remaining life age 37.
etc.
---------------
The magic garb is in the photo is neither Golden dawn nor OTO so 1910 makes sense as does a comparison of his face with other existing photos.

It all paints a pretty bleak picture.
Here is the results of an internet search on Abbey of Thelema cefalu murals images:
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=abb ... &FORM=IGRE
The time at the Abbey of Thelema was very bleak financially and Crowley was attempting to operate and live on finances from the visitors.
There was reportedly much drug taking and other nasty work.

At the back of the book there are about ten pages of Sources, by chapter; no footnotes as such.
I'm thinking it would be easiest for me—and most useful for you—if I just send you the book, rather than scan more pages. (It looks like a quick read, I paid nothing for it, and in this case, once I read it, don't need to keep it. In fact, I offered to give it someone last year but they already had it; that was before I realized it's something I do want to read.) If you want it, shoot me a PM and I'll mail it.
(However if others here would like to see the Sources, pipe up now and I'll scan them. Note there is apparently no 'ebook'/Google Books preview available.)

I am interested in any of the book you might want to scan and post.
Here is a web site that has good images of Abbey of Thelema / Cefalu (which has deteriorated and been vandalized):
http://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/main/ov ... uired.html
Note the site "documents" the worst of Crowley including being the father of Barbara Bush nee Pierce.
Nice pictures.

Thanks, Semper...I did straighten some crooked pages in photoshop.
Here are the scanned Sources pages, plus two 'bonus' pages that might be pertinent, posted three at a time:

Re: "The Crowley 'Joke' & My Allergic Reaction to Occultism"
.....its worth rembering that the well-known quote from Magick in Theory & Practice isn't the only reference to child sacrifice - these seem to get less air-play - from the Book of the Law - which is the holy document of the oTo
.....and ofcourse in context rather more difficult to pass off as a nod & a wink towards magical masturbation...

In the religion of Thelema, it is believed that the history of humanity can be divided into a series of aeons, each of which was accompanied by its own forms of "magical and religious expression".
the Aeon of Isis, which Thelemites believed occurred during prehistory and which saw mankind worshipping a Great Goddess, symbolised by the ancient Egyptian deity Isis.
the Aeon of Osiris, a period that took place in the classical and mediaeval centuries, when humanity worshipped a singular male god, symbolised by the Egyptian god Osiris, and was therefore dominated by patriarchal values.
And finally the third aeon, the Aeon of Horus, which was controlled by the child god, symbolised by Horus.

...under Crowley's vaunted Age of Horus - of which he saw himself as the herald on this earth - then the child assumes central magickal importance....

Re: "The Crowley 'Joke' & My Allergic Reaction to Occultism"
The Beast 666 ordains by His authority that every man, and every woman, and every intermediately-sexed individual, shall be absolutely free to interpret and communicate Self by means of any sexual practices soever, whether direct or indirect, rational or symbolic, physiologically, legally, ethically, or religiously approved or no, provided only that all parties to any act are fully aware of all implications and responsibilities thereof, and heartily agree thereto.
...
Moreover, the Beast 666 adviseth that all children shall be accustomed from infancy to witness every type of sexual act, as also the process of birth, lest falsehood fog, and mystery stupefy, their minds, whose error else might thwart and misdirect the growth of their subconscious system of soul-symbolism.

The Book of the Law solves the sexual problem completely. Each individual has an absolute right to satisfy his sexual instinct as is physiologically proper for him.
Crowley, Confessions, pp. 874-75.
Crowley, I will argue, hoped to find in deliberate acts of transgression a radical kind of superhuman power, one that went well beyond the transgressive rites performed by Reuss and the early Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO)—indeed, a power that could explode the boundaries of Western society and open the way for a new era of history.

Who are the parties to the act?
I don't feel infants can provide "hearty agreement", myself.
