JASTA is not Saudi specific but allows private suits in US courts against foreign entities after a "terrorist" attack -- which means what? So I can understand how Obama would see it opening a pandora's box of constant suits against every country on any pretext after any act of violence -- and suits against the US in foreign courts for all kinds of probably credible reasons. Of course it was in his power all along to move to disclose all known and relevant information about 9/11, to initiate an investigation that wasn't handcuffed and fixed and docile like the the 9/11 CR, to release the 28 pages eight years ago instead of be forced to it finally this year, etc. etc. etc. So you try to cap the pressure generally, in this case at least it found an escape valve. Tough shit.
