Is it possible to subscribe to an entire sub forum?

Is it possible to subscribe to an entire sub forum?
I think this would keep topics that have gone off the main page a little more active.

Sorry Sweejak, not sure I understand the question. What do you mean by subscribe?

By subscribe I mean to activate email notification.

So, instead of subscribing to a single topic one would subscribe to a sub forum.

I don't know if this would turn out to be a nightmare or result in double notifications in the case where one has subscribed to a thread that is within a sub forum.

I don't think one exists now, but it sounds like something that should be possible. It's a good idea.
