OUR EYE
I have started a flickr group called OUR EYE
http://www.flickr.com/groups/oureye/
in the hopes of enticing some RI members to post photos of their lives and interests.
Sweejack's photos are amazing!

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

I enjoy using the PicLens firefox extension to browse flickr.
"I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline."

Flickr tells me I need to enable cookies to use the site, but they are already enabled...what should I do?
If you aren't sure whether cookies are enabled or not, you can check using these instructions.
If you have cookies enabled but for some reason still can't get into Flickr, try using a different browser. For example, if you are using Internet Explorer, try using Firefox. Another thing that may work is to close down your browser session and open a new one. Still can't access the site? Please contact us.

I love the pictures, and the "Our Eye" = "R" + "I" phonetic. I applaud the bravery of Sunny and Chigger for posting such personal pictures.
However, as suggested in the Are They Reading This thread, it is likely that "they" are indeed reading this - likely private intelligence agencies and some alphabets. At the very least computer systems are scooping the data and applying mind-boggling Bayesian probability algorithms to it, as c2w and others point out over there. I found RI by realizing that the authors of many of the blogs I was reading could be found here. RI is kind of a nodal point, and sure to instill some spooky interest. A lot of subjects are hashed about here, and it strikes me as likely that at least some of them strike close to the vein.
I've had friends that find my reticence to post pictures of myself online humorous and paranoid. I point out that no, I do not think that I'm 'important enough' to be tracked and be of much interest - I don't have that kind of delusion or MO - but, I do have some ambition ... and who knows what the future holds? Isn't it possible that someday I COULD BE 'important enough' to warrant an extended file? You bet... I mean I don't want that, but it's possible. The stakes of some of the things we discuss here are indeed high. And once you put some personal info out there you can't take it back. It is best to practice being discreet as you can manage online, at least for some. Some people are better suited to being a 'public personality,' and that's fine too. There are strengths to that route, too. It takes more guts, though.
One of the things I love about this place is the fact that it is a community, and you are all so very interesting. It is natural to want to share our lives and get to know one another. Thank you again for sharing the pics, but I don't think a third-party app like Flickr is necessary. Why not keep it all on the forum here?
So here's my contribution to Our Eye:
It's me and my beloved... or rather our shadows.

We three, we're all alone
Living in a mem-o-ry
My echo, my shadow, and me
We three, we're not a crowd
We're not even company
My echo, my shadow, and me
What good is the moonlight
The silvery moonlight
That shines above?
I walk with my shadow
I talk with my echo
But where is the one I love?
We three, we'll wait for you
Even till eter-ni-ty
My echo, my shadow, and me...
