"Warrior Combat Stress Reset Program" at Fort Hood, whatever that means.
Sounds like an attempt to reduce downtime due to something like post-traumatic stress disorder or perhaps something less severe. Sounds creepy.
-I don't like hoodlums.
-That's just a word, Marlowe. We have that kind of world. Two wars gave it to us and we are going to keep it.

The story's still at the wild-rumor-flying stage, but per the majority of reports:
There were two shooters, seven dead, and 12 - 20 wounded. One suspect is either "cornered" or in custody, and the other is at large. People in the area are being advised to stay away from their windows. Fort Hood is in lockdown. Their identities are unknown (or maybe just not yet being disclosed, I guess), but both shooters were wearing military fatigues.
Fort Hood's huge. I think it's actually the biggest military base in the U.S. Anyway, it used to be. So there are really too many possibilities to make much of a guess about what happened and/or is happening.
Whatever it is, it's not good, though.

Wonder if they'll change it later into being a sucessful version of the Fort Dix terror plot?

According to the news here, if I heard right, it is the largest military base in the world.

One gunman was shot to death, and two other soldiers were in custody, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone, commanding general of the Army’s III Corps, told reporters.
... Obama administration official told NBC News analyst Roger Cressey that one of the suspects who was in custody was an Army major.
