This is particularly ridiculous in that most of our jet aircraft were in northern Canada/Alaska participating in a drill involving a mythical attack across the pole by the "Russkies." One wonders what would have happened if those same Russkies had attacked across Europe via Iceland. One suspects that U.S. defenses would have been anihilated and we would have lost more than a few buildings.
