Prelude

Postby OP ED » Wed Sep 30, 2009 2:46 am

to reiterate:

From Liber Aleph

[ole beastly uncle Al]

DE LUCE STELLARUM.
(On the Light of the Stars)

It was that most Holy Prophet, thine Uncle, called upon Earth William O’Neill, or Blake, who wrote for our Understanding these Eleven Sacred Words!

If the Sun and Moon should doubt
They’d immediately go out.

O my Son, our Work is to shine by Force and Virtue of our own Natures without Consciousness or consideration. Now, notwithstanding that our Radiance is constant and undimmed, it may be that Clouds gathering about us conceal our Glory from the Vision of other Stars. These Clouds are our Thoughts; not those true Thoughts which are but conscious Expressions of our Will, such as manifest in our Poesy, or our Music, or other Flower-Ray of our Life quintessential. Nay, the Cloud-Thought is born of Division and of Doubt; for all Thoughts, except they be creative emanations, are Witnesses to Conflict within us. Our settled Relations with the Universe do not disturb our Minds, as, by Example, our automatic Functions, which speak to us only in the Sign of Distress. Thus all consideration is Demonstration of Doubt, and Doubt of Duality, which is the Root of Choronzon.

...

DE MYSTERIO EUCHARISTICO UNIVERSALI.
(On the Mystery of the Universal Sacrament)

My son, heed also this Word of thine Uncle William O’Neill; Everything that lives is holy. Yea, and more also, every Act is holy, being essential to the Universal Sacrament. Knowing this, thou mayst conform with that which is written in "The Book of the Law": to make no Distinction between any one Thing and any other Thing. Learn well to apprehend this Mystery, for it is the Great Gate of the College of Understanding, whereby each and all of thy Senses become constant and perpetual Witnesses of the One Eucharist, whereunto also they are Ministers. So then to thee every Phenomenon soever is the Body of Nuit in her Passion; for it is an Event; that is, the Marriage of some one Point of view with some One Possibility. And this State of Mind is notably an Appurtenance of thy Grade of Master of the Temple, and the Unveiling of the Arcanum of Sorrow, which is thy Work, as it is written in Liber Magi. Moreover, this State, assimilated in the very Marrow of thy Mind, is the first Stop toward the comprehension of the Arcanum of Change, which is the Root of the Work of a Magus of Our Holy Order. O my Son, bind this within thine Heart, for its Name is the Beatific Vision.

To awaken, to be alert, to keep vigil, these are the recurring themes in Gnostic texts. If Hermes is one of the favourite gods in their pantheon, it is because he is the personification of The Wide-Awake, the god to whom Homer long ago attributed the power to "awaken, with his golden wand, the eyes of those who sleep."

(here I almost flew over the bars and stopped to take a photo and drink)

These a few days ago, was a radiant autumn day, sunny and cool. Last night was first frost. Fall coming to an end, today many trees are already yellow or red and leaves start to shed.

first frost

Mer Girl --- Madonna

I ran from my house that cannot contain me
From the man that I cannot keep
From my mother who haunts me, even though she's gone
From my daughter that never sleeps
I ran from the noise and the silence
From the traffic on the streets

I ran to the treetops, I ran to the sky
Out to the lake, into the rain that matted my hair
And soaked my shoes and skin
Hid my tears, hid my fears

I ran to the forest, I ran to the trees
I ran and I ran, I was looking for me

I ran past the churches and the crooked old mailbox
Past the apple orchards and the lady that never talks
Up into the hills, I ran to the cemetery
And held my breath, and thought about your death

I ran to the lake, up into the hills
I ran and I ran, I'm looking there still
And I saw the crumbling tombstones
All forgotten names

I tasted the rain, I tasted my tears
I cursed the angels, I tasted my fears

And the ground gave way beneath my feet
And the earth took me in her arms
Leaves covered my face
Ants marched across my back
Black sky opened up, blinding me

I ran to the forest, I ran to the trees
I ran and I ran, I was looking for me
I ran to the lakes and up to the hill
I ran and I ran, I'm looking there still

And I smelled her burning flesh
Her rotting bones
Her decay

I ran and I ran
I'm still running away

(thanks to ------- for this song)

Isn't your season winter? Mine is fall. Sorry it's all cryptic, sometimes the images just present themselves.

(Also, it ties into the bread theme.)

Here's one more -

(I love winter - cold and snow - starlit skies and the moon - northern lights. Though I like summer and fall as well - I was born late summer during a storm lasting several days and rainy autumn weather always makes me feel calm and peaceful)

(me and the squirrels share a sentiment)

…Thus, right sitting means somehow finding a position which does not tire the back muscles. You need a firm base, something firm and yet comfortable, to sit on. A cotton mattress or a woolen carpet or folded sheets are good examples of a suitable seat. For anything to stand straight, a tree, a lamppost, a building, you first need a good base, a good foundation.…

The human being is like a pot which receives energy from the five elements.
Energy is expended through work, anger, sleeplessness, conflict, exertion...
By tapping Prana, one can build energy recources to meet life.

Stretching your breath effortlessly
Not measuring on breath
with earlier breaths
Come upon the seemingly endless inhalation
Stumble upon unasked
the sudden taste of timelessness...

The ancients advised that when one is embroiled in problems it is advisable to retreat, gather energy, change one's food, deeply reflect and live in a questioning, searching, enquiring mode. Holding this energy with a deep consideration, a new perspective may emerge!

"this is my heart, this is my breath
it is here that I becomes"

I never had any interest in visiting Finland until Penguin started posting these...
Oh Perfect Masters,
They thrive on disasters;
They all look so harmless
'Til they find their way up there...
