Hello fellas,
Thankfully I've not had to get involved much in this thread so far. I hate to disappoint, especially when folks come to my (dusty inactive house) and give me compliments and at least seem to try and play nice - at first.
There are things that have been said here that I agree with a lot. It's just the modus operandi and demeanor of the messengers / guests that seems to constantly get in the way. I don't enjoy pompous arrogant pontificators. No offense.
I can sorta understand the pleasure in extolling cryptic prose in the hopes that the audience is intrigued enough to peel away the onion layers and decipher any hidden meanings.
I can sorta understand the fun of cyber-sleuthing, discovering suspicious forum user activities, connecting the dots in one's head and publicizing one's conclusions.
But I don't abide the MO, demeanor, behaviors of these Internet Avengers. I especially tire of the use of false identities and multiple username sock-puppeting. Something which all of you are accused of by the very forum owner you'd tell me not to trust.
I'm not interested in publicly or privately rehashing bad forum encounters you've had that convince you the forum owner or forum users are disinfo. Unless you have HARD PROOF. Guilt by association won't cut it.
Each of you has insights into various virtual world and real world shenanigans of potential parapolitical import. I'm just not interested in engaging in much of a dialogue with people who seem to act like Trolls while they are out on the internets Hunting Trolls. No offense.
I do find interest in the things that you each do and say but given past behaviors I'm not really inclined to try and create a dialog.

Now, if I must address a few things just to get them off my chest or to appease the original desire of those posting here...
The RI crowd reacted badly to you terilee but given the forums past experiences with sock-puppets this is almost standard now. Is it right or fair, no, not really. But not everyone reacted that way. And it was in a subforum where a lot of users don't necessarily read much. That's how I missed the ARG discussion there and link to the September Unforum thread on TLS. That link which was my first coming across of unfiction discussion on TLS - and thus DE's "latest" gambit at attracting interest in "The ARG That MIGHT Change the World".
Et at RI can be an arse - so can a lot of people. Yeah, RI's owner coulda shoulda been more judicious in handling Et. Yeah, Et is perhaps the most extreme / reactive person there besides the occasional driveby Troller but whatever. I don't see anything nefarious about that nor about Et's alleged lifestyle nor email address. Big freakin deal.
Synchs happen but I'm not gonna get dragged into analysis of when Jeff Well's posted this or that King in Yellow links.
While I find much of your commentary of interest Terilee, I'm Sorry but I'm just not really amenable to discussing ARGs or anything else with someone who might decide to take personal information about me and slanderously blast it out across there blogs based on emotional angst.
With all that has happened with DE I think it would be just fine if I end by quoting him:
"I, personally, admit defeat. If there is a larger, puzzle-like structure to The Last Statue, or even Wit of the Staircase, I have failed to tease it out in a way that anyone finds at all compelling. So maybe there is nothing to it after all."

Et said this place needs an exorcism, and who knows, this thread may be it. But I think we need to start respecting and applying the house rules or the thread is going to need one itself.

As many have observed, I haven't even really said anything yet. That's in part because of something smiths thought narcissistic -- which is simply that I don't actually share et's belief that RI needs an exorcism. (et -- I'm respectfully differing, not fucking trashing you, okay?) I'd much rather see all the posters who are generally well liked assets to the community remain here. Even if they did happen to have slipped up and revealed themselves once or twice, thus attracting my attention as subjects whose identity-establishing shenanigans turned out to be worth tracing. Because I don't really give a fuck who they are or what brought them here. As long as they're not fucking shit up at RI, they're A-OK with me.
I'm sorry if that sounds big-headed. It's really actually the reverse. Because I really do get trolled a hell of a lot here. And I really wouldn't want to make someone pay for that crime, if it was their only one. As long as they kept it within tolerable limits. But I certainly do fucking notice it privately. And I also certainly do keep an eye out for signs of destructive or malicious game-playing by those actors with other posters who might not be as long-accustomed to dealing with elementary mindfuckery as I am. I've dealt with a lot of professional liars in my life. I'm used to them and don't take what they do personally. Because during most of the years in which I dealt with them, it wasn't personal. It was, literally, professional. They were doing their jobs. I was doing mine. It was business as usual.
I haven't liked what I've been seeing here the last month or so. I wanted to put the sleepers on notice. I'll clean up whatever mess I made doing that as best I can, if this thread keeps moving forward and as events do, if they do. Which I hope they don't.
I'd like to thank et again. Thank you, et. This shit has been driving me crazy, and I was not at my sharpest tonight. Thanks for riding to the rescue.

If you don't know, then you weren't the point, and sincere apologies for the crossfire.
C2W - it was a disaster anyway. A big fucking mess.
You're right in that this board doesn't need an exorcism. It needs an enema...
I can understand the anger over all of this - it's 'cause you both (yourself & et) care. A lot. And with good reason from where I'm standing.
So, if there's malicious game-playing & mindfuckery at play, lets have full disclosure and lance the boil. This coyness is desultory, whereas you C2W are most certainly not.
Thanks,
Telexx

I have to stress here, and I mean it sincerely, that if you are reading this, and do not have a general grasp of what has happened in this thread, you probably are not going to 'get it'. I have pushed for transparency here, and forced it as much as I could, but even so, I understand we leave many questions unanswered.
We'll get all that straight, and you will understand what has happened here tonight.
I'm sorry it wasn't made more clear, but I think we broke more ground tonight than I had any hope of seeing.
I would really like to focus on healing the board from an illness many may have felt but may not have understood, but I don't think that can happen till we finish the job, and its not an easy task. Some of us have been put against one another, deliberately played, and for reasons still unknown. I don't want to alarm anyone, but I think there are still a few remaining who are not as they appear, but I give you my word, we will work to ferret these persons out, and remove the infection at its root.
I'm going to leave it at that for now. I've put about seven hours into this thread non-stop, and I'm pretty worn out.

ALTERNATE REALITY GAMES It starts, as most quests do, with a question. "What the hell?" A flyer advertising the Aquatic Thought Foundation, a division of the Jejune Institute devoted to Human-Dolphin interaction. And even though you're probably the type to resist even the perverse pleasure of sitting through a bullshit Scientologist e-meter reading, something about the prospect of communing with dolphins is absurdly compelling. You call the number. A recondite family awaits.
Founder Octavio Coleman. Really.
So begins stage one of an ongoing self-paced scavenger hunt/walking tour/alternate reality game devised by a pseudonymous cabal of Bay Area artists and pranksters. As anyone with even a passing familiarity with the clumsy graphics and overblown hyperbole of cultist media will recognize, the shadowy overlords behind the Jejune Institute have done their homework well. Their office digs on California Street are pure cult cliché — from the op art adorning the walls to the shelves of new age esoterica and obsolete radio equipment to the videotaped welcome message from Institute founder Octavio Coleman, Esq.
