Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible. -- Lawrence of Arabia

nice, never heard that one.compared2what? wrote:
oh shit, I forgot charlie manson has a 'mechanical man' song. not going to post that
and oh my, hadn't realized but the charlie song is basically a cover of this song...
I can't find where the song came from yet, but it's looking like H.R. Puf n Stuf reworked a chales manson song for the show.

Honestly, I hadn't either, although I love it now that I have. It's a beautiful song, with a lovely, counterintuitive lyrical conceit. But let's face it, it could practically act as the dictionary definition for whatever word means:
- 1. Song that could have been a single, probably, but instead ended up being the very model of the kind of five-minute filler track that musicians who were primarily singles artists used as the last song on Side B of their albums in the mid-'70s.
2. Song that nobody's ever heard except for the RZA, which is why he's the RZA and you're not.
I was looking for Devo's "Mechanical Man," originally. I just stumbled into a better option.
